He created an alias on ebay (Ed Lazaro) dba Lincolns of Largo- just recently ebay pulled all his listings..he'll eventually resurface under a new alias no doubt.

re; the ABS, which pumps/modules are interchangeable?
 
This module is located in the drivers side wheelwell, correct? When it snowed here recently, mine got a workout and sounded as though it was cycling gravel. It didn't affect the brakes working - or so it seemed - but anything out of the ordinary worries me when brakes are concerned. Anybody else have similar sounds? It hasn't surfaced since the snow, even when I purposely activate the ABS on wet roadway.
 
yes, DS wheel well is the location....I've not had problems with my system; I'm prolly crazy for selling my spare, only asking $30 plus s/h- trying to gradually downsize spare parts

my Ivory Mark has some issues, I'm gonna take it in for a full trans service (120k miles) and Jmod..($200)
I'm also gonna ask him about:
steering rack r/r; ac troubleshooting possible comp replacement, r/r oil pain gasket assuming it is leaking; motor mounts r/r; resolving sticking lifters/follower(s) up on the head, causing chatter at startup (sounds kinda like a diesel)....possibly have the abs valve block r/r, or maybe I could do that sans bleed

what might the estimate to drop the kframe and do these jobs,? or ? pull the engine and do the work?
1k? 1500?

would it be better to repair the heads I have, or replace them with salvaged heads?
 
Not trying to be a smart ass, but everything you listed would probably cost more than the car's worth to have a shop do it. I love these cars, but they are not cost effective to have someone else work on them.
 
Everything on the list including parts will probably be closer to $2000. The oil pan alone is about $700.
 
Dan, it might be a good idea to check with Diesel Dan. He did my oil pan gasket, P/S hose, and oil filter adapter gasket for a very reasonable price. Call me. I have his number. It may be worth the road trip to Orlando.
 
thanks for the input....I know my 'wish' list far outweighs the value of the car as is or post repairs; nothing on the list is crucial, I don't have to add oil or any other fluid for that matter. i was reading to sell it after i found out the abs was shot, so I looked at newer cars- ex. a clean '03 LS luxury package with 116k...could pay around 5500..but then I thought, 'why not just get my car where I want it instead of emptying my checking acct/gambling on another used car?"....

I've already done a ton to this car, I'd still like to have ac, exh, jmod, paint job.....the steering seems a little loose, one bellow leaks grease, and i can hear a random metallic clank when turning sometimes- I'm thinking that's the rack?...keep in mind the entire front end was rebuilt w/ coil conversion leass than 10k ago all my bll joints and bushings are good- I think one front shock kinda scrapes sometimes but it's not overly bouncey

An LS? You aren't right in the head.

The goal should be to get something MORE reliable then a Mark viii, not less reliable.

that's how the C/L ad was written...I pulled the inspection plug on my trans...it's nice and dry there...i guess there's no reason not do a trans service at 120k miles?, probably be the first time
 
nice car. it will probably need COPs and plastic cooling components at some point. as they all do around 100-120k or so.

appears to be a premium sport.
premium because of the heated/cooled seats and sunroof, and sport because of the SST shifter.
 
well, I just got the estimate on repairs for my Ivory Mark: $800 to replace ac compressor, $475 to replace PS pump and hp line.....they've already done the trans service and jmod (replaced filter and damaged pan with fluid change) $200.....

I'd really like to have a car with ac, but not for $800, that's $100 more than I paid for the car.....
