hi fellow lincoln fans. i recently read on the forum that its a good idea to spray clean the MAF sensor. when i attempted this i noticed the unit being held on with two strange screws. they look like torx heads but my torx head screwdriver didn't fit. what is the name and size of the tool i need? hope everyone is well. thanks pgm

without looking at one to verify...

you say it looks like torx.. but your torx don't fit. 1st, right size bit??? 2nd.. maybe its a security torx.. (pin in center of screw, needs hole in center of bit)

the answer

security torx, i think teddy bear hit the nail(torx screw) on the head. thats what it must be. do you know what size and where i can get one? at present iam working on fixing the lincoln cassette radio. it got a bad drive belt. but whats interesting is that to get at the drive belt you have to remove a plate thats held together with JIS screws, for which you need whats called a JISscrewdriver. whats a JIS screwdriver you say. its a screwdriver that looks very much like a regular phillips only its specially made for these particular screws found on this radio. ive found out that these screws are used on lots of japanese electronics. just thought id share this hope i didnt bore everyone. thanks again teddy bear. pmg

The torx bits you need are called Tamper proof torx, they are just like a torx bit , but they have a hole in the center of the bit!!!!!
