What was everyone's first car?

I personally hated lincoln until i got my Ls, I absoloutly love my Ls and lincoln i work for at a place where we have well over 35 lincoln town cars and stretch town cars, navigators, expeditions etc. I see these town cars with well over 250k on them and still drive great changed my mind thats for sure!

Only other lincoln I owned before the LS was a 1976 Mark 5 "Jake and the FatMan" special :)

That thing was a land yacht. Had a 400M comatose motor. Couldn't kill it and couldn't wake it up. But it was awesome for a cruise. Friends used to call it the lazy-boy on wheels.

1974 Olds Cutlass 442

1988 Lincoln Town Car. That beast went through HELL and back. Took it off road, drove it off a 1 foot high concrete edge, lead foot, sat for a year 3 times without being started and started after every time. That was easily the most reliable car I or anyone I have ever known has ever owned. Ever.

Other cars:
-2006 Lincoln LS Sport V8
-1968 Mercury Cougar 289 (threw a rod, had to sell... Still sad about that)
-1973 Ford Galaxie 500 Country Squire Wagon with a FACTORY 4BBL 429
-1997 Lincoln Mark VIII. The WORST car I have ever seen. So many pointless and STUPID engineering designs in that pile. Easily dumped over $6000 in repairs in the 4 years I owned it and still had a few thousand to go before I ditched that POS for my LS. Much happier now. :)

1976 Cutlass Supreme, 350 Rocket. Loved that car, triple black with bucket seats and floor shift auto.

1990 Chevy Lumina Euro - hand-me-down from my parents at age 16, drove it throughout most of high school until it was sideswiped by a semi trailer while parked across from my house...we did a little investigative work and managed to track the driver down

1994 Chevy Lumina Euro - I needed a better car for college and my aunt was selling this for $800 with only 80,000 miles. Didn't really want another Lumina but the price couldn't be beat.

2001 Lincoln LS V8 - current car, bought a couple years ago

1999

1999 Monte Carlo z34. Bought for 2,000 back 6 yrs ago with 13k miles on it.

Not my picture but same car

Mine was a 1995 Mustang 3.8L V6
I regret the day I sold it. Had alot of time sweat and effort..
Had a banging system in it that would set off car alarms..

Man lots of people had Chevys on here, I also had a 1996 Monte Carlo and then the LS. I do miss the cheap maintenance of that thing lol but I love the Lincoln no matter how much it cost me

2002 Ford F-150 Supercrew, 5.4, FX4, Dumped Flowmaster 40 Series, 3M 3% tint all around, Lightning inspired headlights and taillights, Incubus Wheels, Acetoned badges, Kenwood Double Din. needless to say I've been going through tailgate withdrawals. Here's a pick of the ol' gal. Let 'er go too soon, too cheap.

my first car... japanese 00 V8 LS. bought it from a junior at my college. i love the car so much! it eats up so much gas tho haha

my first car

I had been out of college and on my first real "adult" job for about 4 months when I bought a1969 jade green Mustang with black interior, air conditioning, AM & FM radio, great sound system and wonderful heater for the cold winters; it cost less than $3,500 (new, not used). When I made my first stop to show it off to my friends at the record store around the 1700 block of Bond Avenue in East St. Louis, I was so excited that I locked the keys in the car when I got out. I would not allow anyone to use a hanger to unlock the vehicle but insisted that someone take me back to the Brodhead Ford dealership to buy a duplicate key. I still dream about that car and regret having sold it. Now Mary Kay Inc. has added the Mustang (in black) as one of the cars that a sales director can earn. That's awesome! Anyone interested in learning more about that and the fantastic opportunity to run your own Mary Kay business should click on the e-mail user button to send me a message.

First car was a 1955 Buick Century. My brother had paid $50 for it and gave it to me just before he died. It was originally white with a blue top but became a 6 tone with four different colors of primer covering the rust. Not much of a ride but it was transportation for a 16 year old.

My first car (I'm showing my age...*smile*) 1964 Chevy Impala SS convertible with a 409, 4 on the floor, 411 posi rear end and lake pipes. Gas was cheap then, gas stations even hard gas wars, the cheapest I ever paid was $0.11 a gal. I bought the car in 1966 for $1700.00. Chevy's had emblems on the side that showed the engine size, I replaced the "409" with "283", I sure surprised a whole lot of guys at stoplights...LOL.

This thread got me thinking, though only had a dozen including the current ls

66 Dodge Coronet 500
56 Ford (only called a ford no model)
61 Mercedes (4 sp on the column)
64 Pontiac Sport Coupe (this model became first GTO in second half of 1964)
65 Plymouth Valiant
77 Dodge Van
71 Chevy Vega
87 Hyundai Excel (still have this one)
89 Thunderbird
76 Chevy P/U (had lots of rust)
98 Ford Taurus DOHV 3.0
00 Lincoln LS (current)

I remember changing the engine in an afternoon at the junk yard where I got the replacement slant 6 for the 65 Valiant (Tucson Az). I think the engine cost me $100 and they let me use their cherry picker to make the swap... those were the days

1995 Ford F-150 5.0L V8 5 speed!!
Guy was selling it for $3500 and jokingly i offered him $500 for it and he said deal!!! haha i beat the hell out of that truck!! and it took every bit of it with no problem!!! i miss that truck! :(
