whats the best oil to use

sorry guys but i got to disagree with those who say synthetics make motors leak -- we ran the 86 cougar xr7 turbo coupe 310,000 miles same turbo - the 97 ranger has 230,000 on it now and going strong - ran the 2001 grand prix close to 300,000 - my mower is 13 and never had an issue with leaks smoke or oil use - still going like new - none of my engines have shown signs of seal leaks my 351 cleveland is 10 years old sense i built it - and ive abused that poor thing ,,,, it was in this car

I currently use Mobil 1 5-30, with a Motorcraft filter. I've been thinking about going to Royal Purple oil and filters, but am seriously debating if its worth the steep increase in price.

I always use amsoil or mobil 1- Ive been running amsoil for years now and have been very happy with it. I run it in many of my high mileage vehicles...sold @ 235K mile ranger, sold @ 199K mile explorer, 196K explorer I drive every day and even ran it out of oil on my way home from work one day. My damn oil pressure sensor housing broke and lost all my oil! I caught it pretty quick and pulled over but still.

The first oil change on my Mark will be amsoil. My long time friend local to me is a direct jobber and im a dealer basically just for dealer price... so it works out for me since i can get it local....

A fwd gm v6 that didn't leak oil? Sorry but I call bs unless you resealed it every 60k

no problems so far

I've used mobil 1 5w30 and whichever filter seems best at the time.. every 3-4k

Then I should be afraid of my Castrol Synblend because its has both...oh, and I only use Motorcraft oil filters...All that for less than $30 @ Walmart

I use the same as you but all motorcraft.

Im glad i dont see anyone here using Fram filters...pure junk!

Fram = junk.

Walmart is the place to get your motorcraft filter ($3.xx) and Mobil 1 oil around 6 bucks a quart. Get the big jug to save.

My car was dealer maintained by the previous two owners.

Purchased with 54k, currently 91k.

Only Mobil 1 5w20 and motorcraft filters used since the day i bought it.

Of all things, why skimp a few dollars on the oil change..

Mobil 1 5w30. The car has been running it since its first oil change. Never had a leak and just about 200 miles from 100,000.
