Hey everyone, hows it going. Been checking out this forum for awhile, and found some really useful stuff on here so I decided to join. I'm big into motorcycles, as my name implies.
I have a 2000 LS v6 that I bought about a year ago. In that time it has been a great car up until recently. This is where I need help. For the past month or so my car has been misfiring on the 5th cylinder, and nothing seems to fix it. Besides that it gets terrible gas mileage in the range of like 12-13mpg when it normally gets 21mpg. I've changed the coil, though after I found out the coil wasn't bad, as I ohm tested it. Also changed the plug, the injector, and the intake gaskets and its still misfiring. The only new thing now is it is throwing a P1401 code which indicates something in the EGR system. I figured the next logical step would be to replace the DPFE sensor as those are prone to failure on Fords, but was wondering if you guys had any input on what it may be.
