Could we (as a community) keep the thanks held back for only those posts that actually deserve them?

This isn't Facebook, and it's not a "Like" button.

I'm gonna try to clean up the pointless thanks to keep the stats realistic.

Good luck with that. Every other forum I'm on that has a thanks button doesn't work that way, but I guess there's a tiny chance that this one could do it...

I agree. Just thanking someone for suggesting a proper diet it is a bit unrealistic. If you're fat, lose weight or be lazy and keep gaining. No thanks needed.
