Who wants my car?

springs? aww man! jk.

do you have the supercoupe tokico illumina adjustable front shocks?
and i like my tokico blues. leagues better than the american air or arnott or suncore conversion kits.

WOW Dan if I had a job and the money I would definitely be interested. Sad to see you sell it but good luck.

I agree with ochomarko. There has to be close to $4000 in labor alone in your car. I can attest to Dan's workmanship being he did a lot of work to my 93. It is second to none in my opinion. Give it a little while Dan. Tax refund checks will be arriving shortly.

Oh yeah! It's definitely fair. I'm just broke :(
I still got $300 for you..

"Is the asking price fair"
That's a hard one to answer. While you've spent a huge amount of cash and time rebuilding it to be a very special car. I've always been told that no matter how many dollars you flush down your toilet bowl, it doesn't make your toilet worth more money.
I'm in the same boat thou, I'd sell my car too, but ive got at least $6000 in upgrades done to it. So if I took the original price + my upgrades + labor, it should be a $10,000 MarkVIII easy. Sadly the highest offer I've gotten on it doesn't even cover the Audio system

Marks just aren't worth money. They are probably the biggest money pit/most worthless resale value on a car I've ever owned. Love it though.

I'd pay that much if it was a gen2.

In all seriousness, regardless of all the fine work you've done, bad paint and high miles isn't going to fetch the asking price. You should just keep it and enjoy the toy you built.

I actually have already found a buyer. I think the car would have already been gone, but I told the buyer I needed a couple days to work out the car I am trying to buy.

As for the price, I feel pretty good about it. I feel like the car itself isn't worth much, the mods are what is making the car worth my asking price. With that, I feel pretty good about what I have spent. I haven't paid too much for any of my parts, between getting eBay, craigslist, and junkyard parts. My labor was just mostly done for fun, this car is my hobby first and my DD second. The only things I've paid good money for is the sway bars, almost everything else was cheap for me to get because I took my time accruing them.

Even the hub drilling and wheels were dirt cheap by the time I sold my old wheels. I think I pretty much zero'd out after I shipped those. I feel bad about leaving the community, but go have been into mark VIIIs long before I came to LVC. My first car was sold and disappeared. My second car went to TiltedHalo, who now claims to be the fastest NA Gen2, and now this car is going into the M8 community, hopefully. The buyer saw the ad on Facebook.

The car is very unique in my opinion, mostly because of things like the COP swap and the rear cobra brake upgrade. I feel the car will be remembered for those kinds if specific mods, very, very few people have some of the mods I have done.

I am rambling on, but clearly you can tell I take a lot of pride in this car, and speaking with the seller last night helped remind me of all the nice work that has been done to this car.

We'll see how it all turns out, but the future likely holds something with a 5.4, cams, and prostars...

You found a buyer quickly and for your asking price, so I'd say that's reasonable. I'd sell mine if it meant getting closer to what I wanted.

You're going to miss her and will will miss you! Hopefully the new owner will come by and keep it going.

I understand the need to move on, I went to a '14 Mustang GT and have not looked back. I am still itching to get the Mark back on the road, but it will be the car that keeps the miles off of the Mustang. Good luck with that sale.

Dan, you will regret it later. For the amount you will get for it just keep it. Still have your 97 its been laid up for the last 9 months or so, blew up the engine.

Ouch.... what cams did you use in that car?

Thanks for the offer, already have another short block I just rebuilt, its just finding the time to get it all back together.
I was a little upset I had put allot of time and money into the old engine, but that's the price you pay. I finally decided to
add some boost made it through my 5 or 6 dyno runs added a little more and a little more had everything dialed in well got
final figure of 598 took it for a good run and boom.

A Mark can be For Sale, not until its sold is a sin committed
