who's got glasspacks?

I'll sell you my Dynomax mufflers for the price it would cost to buy one new Borla/Magnaflow muffler. They are not welded in they are clamped on and can easily be removed.

I want that one muffler set up
 
Too Bad there isn't a bolt on glass pack. I would be doing that this weekend.

I searched you tube and I like how they sound with the stock resonator and no muffler.
 
i am pretty happy with it so far. not to mention it is really easy on the wallet :D i am going to extend the pipe out so that it exits right behind the tires that way it looks a little better
 
when the exhaust turns out from the center of the car right before it starts to turn towards the back i chopped it off right there and just removed the mufflers. so it points out towards the bumper. if you look at the video with the brightness turned way up you can see it.
 
It sounds pretty bad without mufflers to me.

magnaflows gives a much nicer sound...a deep rumble.
 
I agree that the mufflers available through the aftermarket for the most part sound better. It was simply something I want to do to see how it sounded plus I needed to take measurements to build my own mufflers. Call it an experiment if you will. But for the bang for the buck it's an ok solution for the guy out there that doesn't have a lot of money. I only posted the vids so that it mmafighter could hear that it's not ungodly loud
 
I have an 05 V8 and running without mufflers for about a year now and simply love it. I get nothing but compliments and have constantly had people in mustangs, camaros, and chargers stop me to ask what I did to my LS to make it sound better than theirs; even had police stop me once to compliment me..LOL! I still have the cats and resonator in place as well as the stock H-Pipe; running 18inch by 4inch wide tips to fill in the cutouts in the rear bumper. I don't plan on putting mufflers on anytime in the near future and will eventually do the air intake. When I really want to show off, I kick it into SST and really make it growl! But if riding around police, I leave it in auto to mellow it down. Seemst to be much louder and throatier when the outside temps are around 50 degrees. Still have to do the reverse SST mod..... Also here in Pittsburgh, Pa. we have to do state inspection and emissions but I had absolutely no problems with inspection or emissions so far.
 
Lucky for me I have a gen1 so no bumper cutouts to have to fill. It all comes down to personal preference and if you have a welder like me then it's no money lost if you don't like it.
