I don't know about that. My personal experience with Lincolns dates back to 1979 when I ordered my Dad's 1st one.
Here are some that I can remember in the Lincoln line of cars in the family...
'79 Mark V...275,000 sold
'84 Town Car...161,000 sold
'88 Mark VII...167,000 sold
'90 Town Car...335,000 still running. Original engine and trans.
'93 Mark VIII...152,000 disassembled for mods.
'95 Continental...110,000 running perfect with all toys functioning
'97 Town Car...213,000 sold
'98 Mark VIII...100,000 near perfect
'00 Town Car...32,000
You can't compare Subaru's of the past to this particular car. It is well known that a stressed-out car like this one does not have a long self life. Maybe because it gets flogged heavily but I can speak from personal experience and my cars get flogged almost daily. I love the rush, whenever I can get it. So it is my opinion that Lincolns can really go the extra mile if properly maintained.
