Why not front wheel drive?

They aren't good in the snow..............I won't even drive it when they're throwing salt. I DID drive it once because I had to,and it skidded around a lot on the snow. I owned an 84 cougar and it went really well. All my RWDs go well, except the Stang. don-ohio :)^)

Minor factoid: with an open differential, you can get a "poor man's posi" by lightly applying the parking brake. An open diff sends power to both wheels when both wheels have traction, but when one tire loses traction all power goes to it. By lightly applying the parking brake, you stop the wheel with no traction from spinning, which sends power to both wheels again. No idea how this would work with an electric parking brake with no positive control over the amount of engagement, but on a 1st gen with the handle you can get precise control over the parking brake. Obviously you don't want to just leave the parking brake on at all times, but if you're stuck (as Don often is) it can get you moving again.

Incidentally, I never got the opportunity to test my electric parking brake on partial engagement as was suggested and I won't have the car next winter, so that's now moot for me.

Second incidentally - I strongly recommend that Bigrig remove Don from the banned list; you're going to be missing a LOT of entertainment that way. Barmpots are endlessly entertaining, as long as you remember what you're dealing with. Cor, the thought that Don might have been in control of a fuel tanker. Can you imagine, a fuel tanker barreling down the highway with its cooling system disabled? It's a wonder he didn't immolate.

If I'M stuck, you can bet everyone else but 4 wheel drives are too.LOL! don-ohio :)^)

If YOU'RE stuck, call me. I'll come pull you out with a RWD. Well, to be fair, I'll come DRIVE your car out. I won't need to PULL it out, unless you bury it to the axle.

LOL! That's funny,Telco.........you couldn't carry my drinkin water in THAT category. don-ohio :)^)

I have no intention of carrying your drinking water. I'll just unstick your rig, then drive back home. You see, I don't get stuck, EVER. Just doesn't happen. Never has, never will. I even drove a Camaro in Northeastern winters. Drove past many a stuck 4x4 in my 92 Camaro.

Yes! But where to drive it? You'd have to part the sea of people gawking every time you parked it.LOL! don-ohio :)^)
