why is it that everytime i tell someone that i want to fix up my car everyone is like "why would you fix that up" or "why did you buy that" or "you cant make that fast "

I don't even listen to other peoples opinions... about anything... because opinions are like :q:q:q:q:q:q:qs... everyones got em, and only :q:q:qs like em.

And I'm no :q:q:qgot.

Because (some) people are small minded, ignorant and generally stupid. Don't tell people stuff, just do! :)

Sounds like jealous people to me. Like blue said, just do it and when you outrun their POS, then say "that's why" and then tell them to STFU asking stupid ass questions.

KK, lol, it's not like you with all the bad words. :D Had your safety meeting lately?

Probably because the Mark at this point is not an investment, and it weighs more then most other 'go fast' cars out there that could see more significant increases in speed for the same amount of money invested.

That said.....

I love the look of this car. I love the ride, I love the comfort, and I would love (and will have) a 400+hp NA motor with a rebuilt tranny and new paint and a new interior by the time I'm done with it.

The way I look at it, I am going to spend less making the car I want to own go fast and look nice then I would pay to get a new, generic economy car.

So, :q:q:q:q them. It's yours, if you like doing the work and love the car, go for it. :)

They're usually the same people who are surprised when they hear that these cars are RWD V8s, and really surprised when they hear they're a 4v (that, or they just don't know what a 4v is in the first place.)

TLDR: They're idiots.

i bought my car because it was what "I" wanted.

I didnt buy it to impress others, nor did i expect them to understand why i like these cars

simply put..who f'ing cares what someone else thinks..

Just makes the kill sweeter!!!! An 18yr old in my Automotive HVAC class found out it would stomp on his 02 Mustang GT vert. I knew this when i had my 5 speed 02 GT and my brother was driving my Mark VIII.

Old muscle car are heavy. Some of the muscle were geared toward old folk and families but are now muscle car. Just give some more year and they will be popular rare muscle cars. Who want. To drive a rambler I do.

Does it really matter what you drive?

I don't think so, I drive my 25 junk and love it, I don't have to have new, just what "I" enjoy, it's about what "I" want not what everyone else wants.

I'm the Herder, not the sheep ;)

A lot of people just don't see any fun or logic in increasing a car's performance. I have a friend who drives a 1992 Ford Tempo and has been driving the stupid thing for the last 8 or 9 years. It is his wife's and his only car. They have zero interest in fancy cars or performance.

They like my car and enjoy going out in it but they don't want one in the least. It is not a matter of money for them, they could easily afford a nicer car, they just don't care.

Most people fall somewhere in the middle but most aren't into the speed angle of their cars.

its because you have a gen 1

lol, when i had my gen one not many people were fond of it, and i get a :q:q:q:qty blk on blk 98 and everyone loves it, people young and old white and black comment on it. it has a more modern look.

its nothing but rice-a-ronie arround here, no one has the time to slow down and realize the real style these cars have.

Oddly enough I haven't had that problem. Then again the people I talk cars with, are aware that I know what I am doing, so they just go with it.

I have yet to get a compliment from random people, but I have caught many people staring at the car either on the street, or when walking through a lot.

I get it from my Mustang friends sometimes but not so much any more. After stomping a couple and then with the upgrades done they now respect it. I did buy the car for me and nobody else but I do get aggervated when someone genuinly thinks its just an old POS not worth doing what I am doing to it.

Dude, FVCK them & their opinions! MY dad's the same way. We love our cars & that's final. In the end the reason I love my car is because NO ONE ELSE HAS ONE!!! It's that rare here.

I am an owner of... well, see below.... it's the 1st year they made them. I have to agree with you there! The Gen 2's have a more modern twist to them & you could actually get away with telling an average Joe that your Gen 2 is a 2006 & they'd believe it because it looks that MODERN but I still wouldn't change my 93. lol... I figure one day I'll have enough cash to buy a 2nd gen & have both in a garage!:D

i agree svt.... not so much about the rareness off marks down there in fl

Simply because it's not mainstream. And your not talking to a real gearhead. A real gearhead will appreciate the creativity of another regardless of the make(unless it's foreign). As said by Albert Einstein " the height of stupidity is when people speak upon something they know nothing about". Or somethin like that.... Lol
