This is why we are called Tornado Alley.this was about 6-7 tonight,7-2-05 LOTS of tornados ,some damage here and there,Baseball size hail, rained about 3 inches in 20 minutes at my house!! I got some small hail but no damage,70 MPH wind,I'm glad all my cars were in the garage!! I can't believe I got the pic of the lightning! that was cool!

Ya the lightning shot is a great pic. What does your homeowners cost living in tornado alley?

Most Photographer who try get that shot have speacial cameras that are going staight for couple minutes.

I must say though so far this summer up here in South Dakota we havent had any thing that horrible yet.

Those are some pretty nice looking supercell clouds. Sorry, I took an atmospheric sciences class last semester. Pretty interesting class though.

Wow you got it 10x harder than us, But you usally do anyway hehe I only got some rain and some high winds no hail or anything nice lightning show here also though, im from kansas city, missouri btw

Many have asked why I still live in Michigan. Our roads suck, our economy sucks, our tax structure sucks but at least we rarely have tornados, never have hurricanes, landslides, earthquakes, volcanos or firestorms.

And, unlike the southern climate, our insects never get large enough to carry off small pets and children.

Cool pictures though. I especially like the lightning picture.

That's crazy. I haven't seen anything like that. Hurricanes don't come close to looking like that.

dannnng, that is awesome... im bout to save that lightning pic and make it my desktop background, haha

I used to live in Texas. Also spent quite a bit of time in Wyoming. I have personally lived through a few tornados and they are the most terrifying thing in the world. I actually had to hide in a large culvert once as the twister went right over us. I have never felt so frightened or helpless.

I got lucky on the lightning pic!!! could'nt believe it! AWESOME SUPERCELL,It went from gray to greenish blue then black! It was one HELL of a storm! and I have seen alot,I have lived here most of my life. Insurance I think runs about 750.00-850.00 a year for my place. Out at Cheney lake it destroyed the marina killed one guy and caused hundreds of thousands dollars in damage! This happend yesterday 7-3-05 around 6pm.

I have been through a F5 and a F4 in last 5 years here in Tennessee. Scary stuff, and man that reminds me of the wall cloud that rolled through and brought the F4 two years ago...

NASTY STUFF MAN... I lived in Denton County in Tx. for 4.5 years and we saw
some heavy weather. F3 ripped through a large strip mall, but nobody hurt.

Good Pictures..

Kool pix man......scary stuff. I myself have never been or even see any tornados......except on TV maybe. But, I have helped clean up from several up and down the east coast when I was in the military.........after seeing the devistation first hand I hope to NEVER be involved in one myself.

IDK but I think it was 8 years ago that F4 or F5 ripped thought Fort Worth, TX my aunt and cousin in there closet with there dog and next thing they knew there roof was torn off from the twister. Now they live just about a hour away from Oklahoma City. Even deep in Tornado Ally. :slam

As much as I like to sit on the porch or go to the beach and watch a good thunderstorm, especially if there's chain lightning, I don't envy you. Stay Safe. I was stationed at Ft.Benning one year that had some major activity. Good thing the military builds strong buildings. Clean up was Hell for the engineers afterwards though. Love the Lightninig pic.

I was just thinking the same thing I'd love to see the pic. I remember the storm quite well we had just moved into the kingsborough appts. on south Seneca.

Wow that's cool I didn't know you lived here then or maybe I just don't remember. but ya that picture was cool. my old computer got a virus from myspace 4 years back and I lost about 400 pictures.
