Will this work...transmission question?

Just to be clear, that's 98+ 4R70W off any 4.6, or does it have to be DOHC? I know it's a dumb question, but just wanting to make sure SOHC 4R70W's bolt up to DOHC engines, and they're not weaker internally somewhere than DOHC transmissions.

They are the same.

Welp... I'm purchasing the 2 separater gaskets tomorrow for my 98 trans for the jmod.

No need to buy the accumulators nor the springs because they are already the upgraded ones, correct?

I'm leaving out the 'bottom' spring, but need to keep the 'top' spring in when I pull the 1-2 accumulator, right?

I'm drilling all (7 or 8) holes with the 3/32 drill bit. I'm not worried about the 7/64 drilled hole for reverse.

Also im putting Mercron V in. I'm getting a new trans filter while I'm at it.

I want to be sure that im not missing anything when I do this Saturday.

No limit sent me the PDF of everything, I've been reading allot on this forum, I've been watching YouTube vids, I don't want to screw this up.

Forgot to mention that I want that hard 1-2 shift and the 2-3 as well.

only 2 holes i believe are for reverse. the rest of the holes are upshift and down shift. you may want to refer to the tocca article page 13 and 14 if you are unsure.

Just take your time and take pictures as you take it apart. I just did mine using the same PDF from NoLimits. Nothing difficult just need to learn all the different parts. After doing one, doing another would be a simple affair.

Thanks guys, im a bit on the nervous side. I cant afford (especially 2 weeks away from a 5,000 registered show car show away) to have something go wrong. I'm def take pics of everything. That's a great idea.

You'll be fine with it. No need in removing any check balls or flipping the valve body all around when you have it apart. Just remove the two gaskets, Make sure to mark your pac man plates or take a pic of those too. I would do the one 7/64's hole. You'll like putting it in reverse and it actually going into reverse right then. It's just one hole. I laid my plate on top of a sturdy box when drilling. When you're done, you'll be like "psssh, was that it"?

If you want the harsh shift, leave out the bottom 1-2 spring. I think a couple on here have no springs in the 2-3 and you'll have harsh shifts with them too. If you aren't happy with the shifts, the pan can be removed and springs replaced... My gaskets came in today for the 95. Should be doing it this weekend, I hope.
