If any of you guys have been paying attention to my posts latly....car hasnt been running so hot.

Heres what i did...replaced the valve cover gaskets. ill just go down and do a list...

Left + right valve cover gaskets - 110$

Start car...runs horribly

Ignition coils + spark plugs - 170$

Start car...still runs horribly. starts after a few trys but wont rev or drive.

Take it to a shop - 175$ diagnostics

shop tells me its my fuel pump...so i replace it myself

Fuel pump - 146$

Start car, still runs like :q:q:q:q, wont rev or drive.

Get so fed up with it i take it to lincoln dealership...

lincoln dealership diagnostics - 85$

They come back and say do fuel filter and pull fuel rail to look at injectors.

Fuel filter - 83$ (crazy :q:q:q:q)

They call me back and say that the fuel injector wireing harness has broke where the tabs lock onto the injectors. but all the injectors look fine.

Fuel inector wireing harness - 280$ (still being disputed)

They also tell me both fuel pumps need to be replaced. and quote me 1600$. basically i loose my cool lol. I was very pissed off that the tech broke my harness, and also wanted to talk to him about the fuel pump(s). So i get him on the phone, heres where everything gets crazy. Earlier in the day i told the service writer the car ran fine until i did the valve cover gaskets. I had disconnected a fuel line and i think theres a problem with it. He said he would tell the tech. Im on the phone with the Tech and tell him about that fuel line, he has no clue about a fuel line. i told him to check it out make sure nothing is blocking it.

Apparently when i cut my fuel line on the "dampener" going over the drivers side valve cover (should've used a fuel line disconnect for 10$) there is a hard plastic inner shell of the fuel hose. when i put the line back on the dampener the plastic got pushed back and basically pinched. So What was going on what it was clogging the fuel flow. thats why it would go 40-50psi at idle and drop when you hit the gas. That clog wouldnt let fuel through.

New fuel line with dampener - 225$ installed

Anyways just because i cut that damn line instead of disconnecting it with the proper tools....it has cost me 915$

Of course im still going to argue the fact that the injector harness that got broken i shouldnt have to pay for...or atleast go 50/50. Plus the service writer didnt tell the tech what i had told him to tell him. if he wouldve perhaps my injector harness wouldnt be broken.

For the future...anyone planning on doing your VCG's on your own...use the proper tools. Just look at my experience from it!

On top of all that...my bike broke...clutch cable snapped...

new clutch cable - 34$

We live and learn...

I can't believe the dealership charged you $83 for a damn fuel filter!!!

Live and learn...yea...to bad i learned the 1000$ way.

but hey....car should go another 100k miles now!

New fuel pump, new spark plugs, new ignition coils, new valve cover gaskets, new fuel filter.

what the fock else can break?

no lol....do you know what the dampener is? its probably what most people mistake as there fuel regulator.

its a rubber hose...i couldnt get it off the dampener by pulling so i cut it with a razor blade.

little did i know what it would cause.

price wise you got ripped.....vcg's from team ford $35 each side with o rings. Fuel filter i just bought from my ford dealer, $20.Lucky i used my brothers fuel line disconnector when i did mine.

go out and kill someone night - it's wrong but it will make you feel 'even' somehow.

Ehhhhh I cut mine off. Its a whopping inch off the line. And after carefully re-installing it had no issues.

yea Sully...thats what i did. cut about an inch off. guess i got unlucky and when i put it back on it got all messed up and blocked fuel flow.

unfortantly the tard tech broke the clips on my injectors. i still dont think i should have to pay for that!

Im sure i could jerry-rig something to work for cheap with that fuel hose. but to be honest im just fed up with being under the hood of this thing. the dealership fixing it is so expensive because of course they have to do it by the book.

To be honest i want to just yank this damn engine and trans out. Take the fuel tank out and tell it to get lost. Undo the gauges and ignition.

Build the 351 windsor thats in my step dads van that hasnt moved in a while to about 450hp and carburated. Drop it in the lincoln, feed it with a fuel cell, make a custom sheet metal gauge cluster and put in a nice manual trans lol. be easy as hell to work on, fast, and probably more reliable lol.

Maybe down the road!

breaking the injector clips is very very common. sucks but happens.

Has anybody seen how much it cost to get the whole procedure done at a shop or the dealer (if you're rich enough that is...).

All my injector push clips where broken off my harness when I got my car in pieces. I was like WTF are these guys hacks or what. Then I bought a complete fuel rail injectors and intake with harness from boneyard. When I went to pull the harness off the injectors every one of the clips broke off like glass. They get super brittle from being trapped right on top of hot engine. No need for a new harness I just safety wired the harness end onto the injector. No fuss,no muss. Glad shes running again for ya. And yes you learned a lesson. If car was running ok before you JUST did something recheck everything you just did.

Shizzle, I clogged my fuel line in two places when I tapped for nitrous feel feed. doh!

Got all sorts of CEL's Left Bank flow, monitoring something or other, o2 sensor reading out of range. I still drove it that way for about 100 miles or so. I can't believe it ran.. Stupid plastic liner..

If you replace the hose make sure to use the fuel injection hose clamps NOT the worm style. I am still F'ing with mine and get irritated every time I chew through the hose cause it STILL leaks..

Sorry I didn't read your previous posts, otherwise I might have been able to offer some help. :(

Live and Learn.... Then throw a freakin' stick of dynamite at the place.

$83 for a freakin filter.... Man that boils my blood.. They're rippin people off right and left.

I had also (back when it was under warranty) had a coil go bad. I personally took off the valve covers and inspected for oil, etc.... Everything looked fine.

Got the coils changed, and VCG's..... 20,000 when I did alittle preventative maintenance and changed all my spark plugs (50,000 on the odom) I noticed that one of the connectors had this orange crap on it.

THE FREAKIN TECH BROKE THE CONNECTOR TAB ON THE COIL THAT WAS REPLACED AND INSTEAD OF MAN'ING UP AND TELLING ABOUT IT, HE GLUED IT BACK TOGETHER!!!!

Miller time. Sit back and enjoy a cool beverage knowing that at least it is fixed.

I agree that the whole experience has completely sucked for you. Reading all of your posts I had no idea where to even start. But, the sooner you can laugh about it the better.

if it makes you feel better I've been trying to get my Direct Exhaust injection and coil capacitors tuned in and I cant for life of me catch enough traction

Oh, I can help with the DEI. It is a little tricky, the hardest part is removing the tube for the dipstick.

Dealership recently treated me pretty well :D

22 bucks for the lincoln branded wheel cap, and 120 for a clock spring..

Funny thing was they had both in stock.. AhHHH WHAT!?!

I may or may not have been humping service guys leg after that. El Segundo Ford if I remember (in Cali)

the fuel line removal tool is common..got mine at Pep Boys. I wouldnt cut a fuel line unless I had no other option.

^^^ how the hell did you run a 16.41 @ 94.1mph?!?!?!

I talked to the dealership today. got it all figured out with the part that broke. ill pay half and no labor. i told him what i would pay for and he said ok.

Also the shop that charged me 175$ for diagnostics heard from me today. i got half of that money back as well :D

but forreal dude...how the hell did you run a 16.41 @ 94.1mph?

but forreal dude...how the hell did you run a 16.41 @ 94.1mph?

Hahaha I spun the hell outta first AND second! 3.4 sec 60ft if I remember correctly. haha Pretty damn good trap speed for back pedaling the crap outta the car. I only got two runs in that day, and
I was sooooo pissed the timer glitched on my 15 run and I didn't get a trap speed cause it HAD to be fairly close to 100.

oh so that was a nitrous run?

man thats not good at all lol...

Ive ran a 15.078 @ 93.75 with just an exhaust!
