WTB: Chamelion 1995 Mark VIII

Id walk in that dealership with 5000, and tell them you have 3500. Get it before it starts getting up there in price on Ebay.
 
I can't throw cash on the table til friday. :q:q:q:q :q:q:q:q , The reserve is probably the asking price from the dealer, so I'm not too concerned yet. Damn the cursed Lincoln gods. I cant even look at it til thurs so I will let you know.
 
That dealer is pretty expensive!

6 grand for a 1988 Mercury Grand Marquis! :eek: (it is pretty nice though)

Well got on the phone this morning and talked to Tim Eccles. Said it seemed like I knew more about the car then they did. Then proceeded to say "What would a car of this caliber [mileage color and overall niceness] be worth to someone who would buy it"? I told him tops 4500, bottom 3500. He said OK well............could....you.....do...........5100? I said 4750 tax and all out the door. He said he would like to meet me in person. So soon I'm gonna go up there and talk. I'll keep you posted on what happens. I almost want to watch it fail on ebay around 3500 and then go talk, but I'm afraid it will sell to. Decisions Decisions.:cool:
 
Drove the car. runs so so. I can fix it. It doesn't have the cd player but it does have the jbl speakers, weird huh, and it doesn't have the sunroof either. Is this an lsc car? I just noticed that it was listed as one. Can anyone also tell me all the differences I tried to search but can't find the right words to search. TIA
 
Oh yeah some Canadian douche nozzle called and told the dealership how rare the color was. so to whoever you are you are a vag and a tard thank you.
 
I went to lincolnsofdistinction and discovered all I needed. does the combo of audio and sunroof sound weird?
 
not a weird combo at all. I can't believe someone would call and do that. Now it's going to stay overpriced. :(
 
The car is officially MINE! just put 2500.00 down and they took it off ebay. Wound up 4300.00 cash + tax. Still pics do this car no justice. It is the most beautiful mark I have ever seen in person. I am not bringin it home yet due to weather it is snowin balls here. Probably have pics tomorrow.
 
We are going to need better pics from you as soon as you get it home. :cool: I'm happy you got it, but sad i don't have one yet. :/
 
It already has the hard button climate control panel buttons. In fact I pointed it out to the wife when we looked at it. This car is immaculate. I will have pics from under over and inside soon. I was only able to put down 2500 because of some limit on my card. It unfortunately is in my name and I sent the wife today while I was moving the guts of our shop to a new location. It sucked in the snow and rain and nasty ass weather 6 loads across town in a overpowered shortbed PU. So tomorrow I will straighten it out with the card people. But I still don't want to bring it home in this weather.
 
I have never seen one like that. but I have never had a gen 2 either though. In my 95 the red garnet in the sig pic its buttons feel hollow and squishy. And several have cracked. The buttons on the chamelion feel like one hunk of plastic. Like a lego almost. So I assumed it was already. Do they eventually get squishy over time? But that also wouldn't be an option because for it to be rare it must be original. It has a napa reman starter on it, and it's comin off asap. I have a stack of maintenance receipts. And I think it has a cheap ass fuel pump in it too which will all be taken care of . It still has the original plugs and wires. Which on the rainy day I drove it on it had a nasty miss under hard load. The wires are crusty as hell and I figure the plugs haven't been touched either. [if they been done it's been atleast 9 years.] That helped in the purchase alot. But then they mentioned the canadian hero. And we were at a stalemate. I'l have pics soon of the everything. The tune up will be done day one. Wich wires would you recomend. I read about the for motorsports wires but dont know the part # or what make model to get them for. TIA.
 
Id go with the ford racing wires cheap and the biggest ones you can buy. Im willing to bet you have a bad coil pack tho, they always go bad on fords...
 
It's not a hard miss it's only in third under load goin uphill.Even if it does need a coil, which I doubt it does, I'll start with the plugs and wires first.
 
Would you happen to know the part # or the make model to order them for. I could as Max but I hate to do that and then buy them from my dealer.

RED OR BLUE.

(that part number is for blue wires, btw. Not sure what red is)

Congrats on the purchase. Plugs and wires will fix you right up. Once the snow is gone around here, sometime in June, we'll have to hook up. I would like to see that one in person.
