X pipe question.

The best place to put an X-pipe is not as close to the engine as possible, from every gearhead Ive talked to the thing to do is warm up your engine to operating temp then take a crayon and draw a line all down your pipe and where it stops melting is where it should go. The truth of this is beyond me but it sounds about retarded enough to have some sense to it.

I'm ready to get new exhaust. I'm goin with a dual in/dual out :shifty: Flowmaster:shifty: no resonators and a X pipe. My question is where should I put the X pipe before or after the muffler? Thanks.

Now if I understand this right, you want to put just a dual in/dual out muffler where the resonators are and run pipe to the rear exit. Then you will not need an X-pipe, because it is built into the muffler already. Both Magnaflow, Flowmaster and some others make one designed this way.
