Heh heh, yeah, B pillar, my mistake.
Another thing that bugs me is when I go to turn the radio down, it gets louder before it goes down...... Weird!
Sooooo....any pics?
Plastic that buttons screw in keeps breaking, had to glue my traction control button back in, now my button bar above the radio is broken loose on one side. Still havent figured out how to pull the dash without breaking more stuff to fix it either.
Don't remember if I mentioned it, but I hate that electric parking brake. How are you supposed to control that in an emergency? Can it even be used in an emergency? I much prefer a cable on a handle to this stuff that you can't modulate by hand. I don't even know if this electric brake would be able to put enough pressure on if I had to use it to stop the car or not, and I'm afraid to try it as I don't want to find out that it won't, then have to rebuild the rear brakes.

It works just fine as an emergency brake. Try it sometime.
If you try it with your foot on the gas and not the brake, you get a warning chime and a message to pull it again if you really want to use it.
With your foot on the brake and moving, it applies when you pull it. There are three levels of force. Pull it again for harder braking and again for harder still. It can stop you.
Yes, I would prefer to have exact control over the force, but this seems acceptable.
I really like the auto release features and intelligence. I wish it had auto set too, like some other cars do.
no, the center console storage in a 1st gen is the stupidest ideal ever, i will gladly trade a proper hand brake for a switch an twenty times the storage, not to mention a much nicer console lid that two people can actual share. also kinda hard to beat the wider separation of the cup holders, so now you can actually have two LARGE drinks fit right next to each other.I agree 100% that an electric parking brake is the stupidest idea... ever..
The biggest complaint I have is theres no aftermarket for the ls. The little aftermarket there is for it is retardedly priced, oh well guess I'm used to my old car mits gsx.
my other complaint would be the noise the power steering makes. sounds louder than the engine! anyone else agree?
ive been a LS owner for a whole week, but yes, this pretty much nailed it for me - sucks
oh and also clockspring and fricken gen1 chain tensioners - which im assuming have been mentioned in the last 8 pages but probably could be said again - or not - had to deal with them on Harley Davidson and now with 4 wheels!
BUT I still think the car is dope as hell........and i still cant believe this wound up being the first fomoco i've owned.
My LS did that too! Glad to know it wasn't only me.
Is that Fallbrook as in North San Diego County NE of Pendleton?

trading a hand brake lever for all that is just a no brainer!
ive owned my 5spd for 12 years now. 12 years and 4 months.
the most annoying thing over all this time is the high pitched whining sound in the speakers when I use the cd player (or if I use the tape player) ive never really done much about it though. when using the radio it doesnt occur.
ive always called it alternator interference but I don't really know what it is. It increases with the rpms. im told I have a bad ground somewhere. the dealer replaced the head unit once and the whining slightly decreased.
I haven't done much searching about it on here. are there threads around about anything like this? (seems like the right speakers are always cut out too but suddenly work again randomly)

Well guess it's a good thing I no longer have an LS and none of that is my problem, lol. I still disagree with you and feel an electronic parking brake is stupid. ...
So, you are convinced that a feature you don't have and have never tried is stupid. Try it before you condemn it. There have always been closed minded people who were convinced that every innovation was stupid before they every even saw or tried it.
