Just wondering what problems you guys have at your current mileage.

Mileage: 126737

Problems:
Valve cover gaskets
Power steering leak (stiff steering)
Clock spring
Random rough idle
Rough idle when revving at 3k+ rpm (giving a boost)

Rough idle when revving at 3k+ rpm (giving a boost) = Protective Rev Limiter = Normal

2006 - just over 100K
2004 - just over 150K

I've had various problems along the way, and I'm not going to try to list them here. In any event, I've repaired all of them as they came up with the following exceptions.

On the 2006, the passenger seat fan is failed. It's not hard to replace and not unreasonably expensive. It just hasn't been a priority to do yet.

On the 2004, I'm chasing a coolant leak that I just can't seem to fix, even by replacing all the coolant parts in the area of the leak. I do expect to resolve this in a week or two.

01 Sport 170ish miles....

Previous owners: Crate engine and trans, destroyed a few things exp. Stereo and trunk.

Right now issues remaining are rear window regulator, fixed both fronts.

Tranny is doing some really stupid things every now and then.

Frozen water in the door panels due to A-pillar leaking....need to fix that one soon.

Heat acts up once in awhile.

Major issue: love the damn car too much.

2002 108,000 MILES
CURRENT ISSUES,
1) heat does not get that hot, luke warm seems due to engine temperature not getting to normal temperature. I have thermostat just need time to install.
2) during the cold weather my ABS warning has been coming on when temp is below 20 degrees,
3) The other day air bag light came on, only happened once, will wait till stays on for good to investigate

Previously repaired by me when warranty expired
1) Drivers and passenger window regulators
2) Stabilizer links
3) alternator
4) normal maintenance, battery, brakes, oil changes, trans service, differential fluid change, plugs, fuel filter, serp belt
5) Valve cover Gaskets
6) Coils

Items done under 30,000 miles while covered on Ford certified
1) Oil pan gasket
2) Power Steering hose
3) DCCV valve
4) Radio
5) Passenger side mirror

I think that is most of what I remember

.

Is the problem that you have a leak, or that the drains at the bottom of your doors are clogged and don't allow water to drain? A certain amount of water is supposed to drain through the doors.

2002 V8
126,000 miles

Coils and VCGs
Rebuilt alternator
Front sway bar bushings
More suspension parts (shocks, end links, etc.)
Clockspring
Replaced radio bc it would eat all my cds
Sunroof drain tube re-attached
Broken seatback fixed with L brackets
Sagging headliner

Currently replacing DCCV

2006 140,000 miles

Current problems
-Small clunk from the front end when turning into angled driveways.

Previous problems
- Coils
- DCCV
- Thermostat
- Degas Bottle
- Upper coolant hose
- Front wheel bearings
- Transmission (ending up replacing)
- Pinion bearing (perfect time to do LSD swap)

Probably more but I can't think of them right now.

- Driver window motor has failed :/

- Replaced - Passenger rear Caliper (started leaking out break fluid from the ebrake slot).
- Replaced - Passenger Ball bearing
- Replaced - Driver side rear door window motor

Im no expert Joe. But, in the years Ive grown up, those in my family who never got their vehicles Sprayed by Krown rust proofing, wound up with Radiator leaks and problems under the hood.

Those who did get their vehicles sprayed once a year, experience little to no issues under the hood.

Take my 02 for example. No issues under the hood - EVER. Sprayed once a year for 6 years. Read my failures, its all either interior or upper joint (self lubed) and bearing.

Krown protects from water damage and rust. It will protect your radiator from corroding.

Your thoughts?

No, the A pillars leak when it rains, I have frozen water in the pouch inside the car.....I didn't get a chance to get the water sponged out 2 weeks ago when it was 40 and rained and the next day it was 10 out. haha

Clear the drain holes on the bottom of the doors.
Drill a couple more if you'd like.

Current issues:
Driver's side heated/cooled seat intermittent shutdown
Very slight hesitation at highway speed
Intermittent P0153 code (haven't had the time to fix it)
Play in accelerator when barely touching the pedal (suspect it is normal ETC operation)

Planned maintenance:
COPs and plugs within next 2 months

Well, (in my case) it's not the radiator for sure. I've replaced the plastic parts it should be. I'm going to replace one of them yet again. Maybe some defective ones from the factory or maybe I am doing something wrong.
I suppose it could be the water pump, but I can't picture it depositing coolant where I am finding it, and only where I am finding it.

Current problems:

Sticky throttle when the pedal is first depressed - Wiped out the TB with a clean cloth last Saturday and it appears to solve the problem. There was a little bit of greasy carbon in the ring where the throttle valve is seated. Not declaring victory until this doesn't happen for a month.

Intermittent airbag light flashing (3-6) - Replaced the connector (again) and the airbag two weeks ago (Thanks, oddball!). Found one of my original splices was a tad loose. Not declaring victory until this doesn't happen again for 9 months.

Driver side heated seat doesn't work - Maybe I'll try to find the break in the heating pad and re-solder it if I have a full weekend to work on it some time.

Glove box doesn't fully close and the little light has burned out - such a common problem on the Gen 1. It hasn't bothered me enough to deal with it, which is weird because I usually can't stand this type of thing

The rest of the many issues (almost all normal wear and tear) I've dealt with over time.

02 v6 / 210000km

ongoing problems:
no driver seat controls (the fuse blows when i use it)
vcg / coils (bought new set need to find time to go to garage)
battery drain (alternator suspected)
broken rear window regulator
water leak in a few spots
no ac

recently fixed:
no horn / steering control / airbag light (clockspring replaced)
front side clunk (front tie rods changed)

Man, I hope I'm not jinixing myself,
2004 owned 1 1/2 now at 70K miles and haven't experienced a problem yet.

I still get great mpg. and LOVE this car

2006 62K

Current problems...
Right rear wheel speed sensor needs replacing.
Clunks in dash and delayed airflow from center vents sometimes.

Done
Trans solenoids
Coils/plugs

2001 V8 140,XXX

The usual problems have been fixed. Now I'm working on replacing the O2 sensors, front suspension, ball joints (again...long story), ABS speed sensors, and rear stabilizer links. I'm sure I forgot something.

Seems to be quite a bit of users reporting their o2 sensors failing.

2000 Base V6, 89k miles. VCGs, all plugs, all COPs, DCCV, both tie-rods, all sway bar links, PCV, drivers door interior handle complete mechanism (twice), copper washers on front brake caliphers, top radiator plastic hose manifold, battery, all O2 sensors. All normal LS failed parts. Replaced front brake shoes, rear original.
