had this problem last summer, then it went away, came back for about 3 week in the winter and is back full time now. it drives me insane! anyone have a fix for this?

i just wanted to thank you for this write-up. this happened to me today on the rear window.. so i'll be doing this myself . the cables are off the racks on mine aswell and i wasn't sure if it was repairable.

i'm kinda young (23) and people often question how i can afford such a car. i find that odd since i'm not 16 but that's exactly the line i use and they shut up. i'm exposed to a lot of german cars and compared to them the LS does not stand up. next car is german or jap.

:rolleyes: i'd expect a fancy lincoln to be more reliable than a 10k hyundai.

let me get this straight.. b/c the driver did not race that means he respects the LSE? so when i refuse to race a civic in midday traffic that means i respect the civic? nice logic there. btw, the MB wins in every aspect.

turns out it was one of the belt tensioners..

so this morning i hear the alternator belt squeeking a bit. later in the day i'm on the highway and see smoking coming from the engine bay.. assuming that during the last tune up the belt wasn't lubricated and the friction casued the smoke?

again, no. the boxster engine is also far superior.. just b/c it's 4cyl does not mean it doesn't pull top end, an sti has a much higher top speed than the LS. don't even bother comparing the two. Quick got 13.9 with NOS but i'll be interested to see how the SC changes things.

uh.. what? you could beat an enzo if you have the equivelent or better weight/power ratio i wouldn't sell the jetta short.. the 1.8t engine is far superior to our little v8. congrats on your wins though.
