The LS is back on the road again. Took around 3 hours to change it..I swear I saw on here it comes out the bottom but I couldn't get it. For me getting it out the top was easier. The biggest pain was I think it's the aux pump..whatever has 2 rubber ends that slide on the fan shroud, That took...

Thanks, I haven't opened it so I can use that idea still. We have a hoist so hopefully it makes it a little easier. I looked just a bit ago and it looks fairly simple just tight space.

Yeah my leak is the upper radiator right side..not exactly sure where yet but tomorrow I will know more. Part arrived today and I cleared out the cars in the shop to make room..hopefully an after school one day project!

    Better to be cheap

Well I finally have my problem solved..figured out at least. I ended up buying a pressure tester kit for $90 that is great. Hooked it up and pumped it to 15 pounds and right away it started leaking out on the right front. So I guess it was never fully pressured when I drove it even though I...

I ended up overheating with just those few parts replaced after driving a few times so I decided to change more. I changed the thermostat housing, the thermostat itself, all the seals, and that elbow piece. I finished that job and it wasn't bad. Then I bled the system and had great heat coming...

I used one of the bolts I had out and one from a LS intake from a previous car and tried to measure how far. Not exact or anything but it isn't a problem it seems.

Ok I'll have to check for the adapter it connects to. I only saw 3 bolts but it was a quick look. Thanks for the tip on cross threading I don't need anymore avoidable problems.

Unusual issue when driving in light snow

05 LS V8 I've had this issue too but not in a manual. It feels like a miss almost but it only happens when the snow is blowing. It's never done it any other time so it doesn't bother me. Be nice to know what causes it though.

Didn't think about taking the hood off..I had the wiper cowl and wipers off because I had changed the degas bottle earlier. I could get in there with a little bit a of struggle but the bolt was very rusty down where it broke. It's holding up so far although I haven't drove the car lately due to...

Hey does anyone know the size of bolt # W500014-S426 ...need to buy 2 of these because of the route I'm taking to replace the elbow. They're pretty common I assume and I could just pick it up at the local hardware store? Thanks

    Power Steering

Had the same problem you have..mine was the power steering pump. Although you should hear some noise or something when you turn if I remember. My fluid never went below max either. Lucky if it's not that though..horrible to do unless you have tiny hands.

Well not much work done on the car I hit a deer with it so I had to take care of that. One tough front end on this car I guess. Hit it at about 45 mph and killed it..just caught the front of it on the left side and it hit hard enough to spin it around and get the the fender. Then it just slid...

I said not all the plastic is replaced so I'm not sure what you mean. I've replaced the degas bottle and the 2 hoses connected to the bottle. I also replaced the plastic piece the engine fill cap screws to..so the front thermostat housing piece and that seal. Everything else is sitting waiting...

Yeah I'll try that out I never played with it. Just tap the solenoid switch with a wrench or something? Then see if it pushes air on both sides of the center vent or is it to see if my heat will start working?

Thanks for the response I'm glad you pointed out the simple things because I never noticed the dial (opens vent) on my driver side until I had the car for 2 months. But no that's not it they're all open and both sides are at 90 degrees. I am thinking it must have air too because if I rev it...

Ok and yes not all the plastic is replaced. I did replace the front piece where the cap mounts and the seal behind it. Everything else I was going to do with intake off which didn't happen. I will replace them if I must. Trying to avoid it at the moment. I will gain tomorrow follow the steps...

The center vent is not even one side blows like normal the other hardly at all. Makes me think something is plugged..can the heater core get plugged? Like if someone added a additive.

No it's a broken down almost flush a little less so it won't be easy if I have to go the route. It is working so far with about 3 2 mile test drives. The heat of course is not..my question is this in the bleeding procedure throughout the hole thing you only open the heater bleed one time? (After...

    Better to be cheap

I searched for new ones and couldn't find them either. I figure I can find one local. This makes me worry even more that another will break when taking them off. I was out in the snow storm until 3 trying to get this thing done so around 3 hours into the bleeding. Still doesn't want to stay at...
