Once you get to it ,its not that hard to change. When i first bought my LS i took my degas bottle out and inspected it after reading all the threads on here about them cracking over time. Mine looked great so i put it right back in.
Alright sorry its late but i work all day then come home and work on my Aerostar Van that im restoring. Heres the pics i promised. I pulled the toggle switch off to show you exactly which wire i cut and hooked the toggle switch into. You can see in the picture where i put the black n white wire...
Hey man i apologize for the late response. I dont get notifications right away. I will post some pictures later today of how i have my LS fan switch wired up. I agree 100% with pulling anything off that will allow that engine to run cooler. Coil covers, engine cover, plastic skid plate all act as...
Why waste time? Im not wasting time i have never replaced all the cooling system parts on my LS and everything is all OEM that came from the factory except the waterpump, the thermostat and thermostat housing. I figured out what was letting air into my LS system and i fixed it. And ever since i...
All that heat build-up you are talking about is the reason i put a toggle switch on the black/white wire running to my LS's fan so i can keep maximum air flowing through my engine bay at all times. I believe that running my fan at high speed and a couple of other minor things i have done is why...
I never replaced the IACV on my 06 LS but on some of my other vehicles i just replaced it and drove it normally. Never had a problem. Also not every new part is a good part. Some can be faulty. You can check the IACV by taking a screwdriver and pushing on the spring to see if it opens and...
Can you see where the antifreeze is leaking from? Front, back, left or right side of the engine? That info can kinda give some of us a idea of what area and what parts may be causing you're issues. Some guys recommend replacing everything but i didnt i found what was causing my problems and...
I love this comment! Personaly i don't like just throwing parts and money at something unless i know exactly whats wrong and causing my issues, that way when i fix it im not just guessing and maybe i can come up with a way to keep it from happening again.
If all is well with that hose under the intake then the only other things i can think of would be the heater core drain maybe if its leaking, could be a hose loose where you replaced the degas bottle or if you have bled air out of the system recently it could be coolant from that running out the...
Theres a small coolant hose that runs under the intake they are known to dryrot and leak i would check there if you are seeing coolant where the trans and engine mate up.
You're welcome. Maybe one day mine will be back on the road. Its been setting in the yard wrecked every since i got rear ended Jan 10th 2024. Insurance totaled it but i couldn't bring myself to let the scrapyard have it lol. So i been patiently waiting to find a straight body clean title junker...
@Broseph here is a couple of pics. I had to jack the car up but i got you a couple of pics. The best i can tell the hose coming from the front went into the bottom and the hose thats in the back went to the top.
@Broseph i believe you are correct. I believe fluid flows in the top from the pump and out to the cooler from the bottom. Im not at home now but when i get back home i can go check on my car to be sure. The only thing is i am probly gonna be gone for 3 or 4 hours if you can wait that long if not...
@bobsquatch i was reading LS threads that sometimes pops up in my email and i read you'res all the way through and seen you're last post. I got rear-ended in a wreck back in Jan 10th 2024 and State Farm totaled my 06 LS because it got the back passenger quarter panel. It still runs and drives...
I would crawl under the rear of the car and put my sniffer everywhere and see if i could locate exactly where that gas smell is coming from. If the previous owner said they replaced the fuel pump you may want to lower the tank so you can double check that everythings still connected like its...
Heres a picture of the Aero engine when i had it tore down and the little bit of room i had to work in lol. The miss i was chasing turned out to be a dead injector. The egr valve nearly killed this little engine. From the throttlebody plate to the valves it had almost a 1/4 inch of gummy carbon...
