I'm in Houston, TX and selling my Black on Black 2005 Lincoln LS with 111k miles. It is a V8 with the Ultimate package. It comes from the factory with navigation, sunroof, memory seats, spoiler, chrome wheels, dual zone climate control, and cooled/heated seats. The car has new tires, new...
Update... The shop vac wouldn't fit in the hole. My little girl said I should turn printer paper into a tube and put that in there. It worked. Clean as a whistle.
I've tried the paper towels. I got some out but not enough to feel comfortable pulling the spark plug. I'll try the shop vac. I'm not sure why that didn't occur to me. Thanks!
I searched this. There are just too many results to find it.
I'm in the process of replacing the valve cover gaskets. My plug wells on the passenger side are full of oil. If I remove the plugs that oil is going to go into the combustion chamber. How do you get the oil out OR does it...
Thanks guys. I got it all back together and it's a mess. I'm getting a misfire on cyl 1 and 5 and a random misfire on all cylinders(P300). I'm guessing I'm getting unmetered air in from the intake. It must no have sealed completely. If I get over 1500 rpms it stutters really bad. Any other...
Another update. The last nut on the engine wiring harness retainer can apparently only be accessed by removing the cowl cover and strut tower brace. Otherwise you can't get a tool on the nut. I'm floored. I'm reverting back now to the question, is there any real danger in just putting the...
I know I'm jumping around on this but on the oil in the intake thing it's coming in through the pcv system. This can't be good for the ignition system. Is there a fix for this? That much oil in the air has probably already started fouling my plugs. Am I off base?
The thing holding it down in the back is most likely the engine wiring harness retainer nut. There are apparently 2 of them. I removed the one on top but can't get to the one on the back.
I haven't removed the intake completely yet. I removed the bolts and pried it up in the front. Having not removed it completely do you think the gaskets are still toast and I should remove it completely for new gaskets or will it be ok? The car has just under 100k miles if that means anything.
My cooling part replacement problem has branched into a new issue. Can anyone give me tips on the best procedure for removing the upper intake on an 05 V8? Also, should there be oil inside there? There is in mine.
Correction. The back bolts on the coolant outlet on the engine does require removal of the upper intake. The bolts are too long and they hit the bottom of the upper intake. Starting a new thread to figure out removal of the upper intake and why there's oil in the upper intake.
I bought new gaskets. Thanks. I removed the piece that the throttle body mounts to and I have access now. BUT WAIT! It's been a while but should there be a puddle of oil in the intake? If no, what am I facing here?
Does anyone know how to get to the back bolts on the coolant outlet that sits on the top of the intake? 1st the upper radiator hose blew. 2nd When replacing the upper radiator hose the coolant outlet crumbled in my hands. I bought that and a tstat housing to be safe and started to put them on...
