Sadly it is time to say bye to my LS

There is no any OEM degas tank in any of the stores nearby. And from the review here and other sites, the Dorman one is POS. Guess I have to wait and order from the dealer. Ahh.

Sadly it is time to say bye to my LS

I dug out my maintenance records since last year, and compare with the cooling system overhaul post here, and found out I have most of the part already replaced, except: 5W4Z-8A080-AA(degas tank) and 4Z-9F814-AA(Rubber Hose from Block to 8548A). I will take some time this weekend and replace the...

Sadly it is time to say bye to my LS

I can change the oil, just find it is a mess comparing let someone else do it. I did changed the transmission fluid on my freestyle by myself once.

Sadly it is time to say bye to my LS

Thank you all for the updates. This is what I'm going to do now: Order the pressure test kit and do the test (does the kit comes with instructions?). Or please anyone? Get a list of the cooling system parts needed and compare with the ones I've already replaced since last year, so I only need to...

Sadly it is time to say bye to my LS

ordered a combustion gas test kit and will test the gas inside the coolant. Will report back the result.

Sadly it is time to say bye to my LS

I opened the hood and did some additional check. The coolant is a little bit low, so I filled it to a little bit over low level. Then I took the car out for a test drive, including local, highway, idle for 15 minutes, total around 2 hours, no overheating. Maybe because it is night so outside...

Sadly it is time to say bye to my LS

But how can I explain that there is combustion gas in the coolant? Is there any other reason causing this?

Sadly it is time to say bye to my LS

Both dealers and the garage did all the cooling system test, no leak, pressure ok, and I'm not loosing coolant. The garage find the exhaust in the coolant by using those combustion test fluid kit which you connect to the cooling system.

Sadly it is time to say bye to my LS

First of all, thanks to all the members here, learned a lot and got my questions answered, whether it is correct or not:p I have posted last year about the high speed radiator fan problem before summer on my 2006 LS, and two different dealers couldn't figure out why. Almost one year later...

Radiator fan running full speed - Found the PROBLEM

I've asked the question back in the spring this year, and no one can find the problem, including two different ford dealers. Last week my DCCV broke again (3rd time since I have the car brand new 2006), when I have dealer fixing it (I know I should do it myself, but I'm pretty slow and with two...

humming noise after replacing the alternator

Oops, I think you were talking about the evaporator. Anyway, I checked the gaps between the condenser and radiator, a little debrie, and I hosed it out. Still doing the same thing. Ahhh.

humming noise after replacing the alternator

The coolant looked not bad when it was drained. And, how do you check the dirt on the condenser? I think it is hide behind the engine itself, hard to see at all. BTW, how do you find out the problem if the pressure tested ok? Sorry, so many questions. Maybe I should change the all the remaining...

    Fan runs high.

At least you find a leaking part. For me, the fan kicks on randomly at full speed and dealer did the pressure test, and said AOK.

humming noise after replacing the alternator

Ok, I think I will give you guys an update after one week. The temp gauge now is stabling at ~50%, but the fan still kicks in at full speed randomly, most of the time when I stuck at traffic or driving at low speed. So I took the car to the dealer on Monday and expecting them to replace the...

humming noise after replacing the alternator

Ok, the dealer find the thermostat is stuck. But, the mechanic said he still cannot lower the temp enough to make the fan not blowing at full speed, he can only make the temp stable at 50%, but fan blow at full speed after the thermostat got replaced. He checked the in temp and out temp on the...

humming noise after replacing the alternator

Tnanks for all the suggestions. I was looking at my service records and the dealer said that they bleed the cooling system when they replaced those faulty cooling parts and hoses, and I don't have any humming noise in the months before they replaced the alternator. And the alternator they put...

humming noise after replacing the alternator

Ok, 2014 is not a good year for my 2006 Lincoln LS, with 95K miles on it. At the beginning of the year, the cold weather cracked my coolant parts and it is leaking. A few months later it is the high pitching noise and it is the pulley and the alternator. Now just less than one week after I have...

    AC Compressor replacement

ok, thank you very much, I will then leave the expansion valve alone. :p

    AC Compressor replacement

Do you plan to replace the expansion valve at the same time? The repair manual stated that expansion value must be replaced if you replace the compressor. But it is redicious, to replace the expansion value, it will take a whole day, at least.
