In some very old posts on this forum as well as on Lincolnsonline there instructions on how to (at no cost) free up the breathing of your Mark VII by removing the "bottle" that feeds the air filter box. In my experience it definitely increases and improves the sound when you accelerate. As for...
Elessee,
I seem to recall that the owners manual said that the HVAC system should be left on (in one of its run positions) when the car is shut off. I believe the intent is to ensure that the doors/flaps of the HVAC system remain open and can allow air to enter the system/car when the car is...
DAMSEL in DISTRESS
There are kits available $300 - 400 that include a rebuilt compressor, (more noisy than the original) air bags, and solenoid valves. The kits include instructions but if you don't want to attempt the install yourself any competent mechanic should be able to install...

One indication of the "performance suspension" package is the thickness of the front swaybar. The performance bar is 1/8 inch thicker than the standard. As I recall the diameter of the performance bar is 1.125 inches.

My 90 LSC had a bunch of skipping problems at about 165K -- sometimes backfireing. It finally quit - no spark at all. Thought it was a bad igntion module but NO! It was actually a partial disintigration of the physical parts of the distributor down under the plate that's inside...

I've used the method in your link from LoL with a minor modification. I disconnected the fluid cooling line at the radiator rather than at the trans. Seemed to work well. As I recal it took about 10 or 11 qts. Its fairly easy to tell when the new fluid begins to be pumped out...

Just another thought. Have you checked to be sure that your rear stabilizer links are equally tightened - or perhaps have unequally worn bushings?
MarkUS 2,
Just wondering if there has been any damage to any of your sensors or their mountings. Also, it is possible that you may not have gotten the same bags for each corner. Road crowns etc. don't seem to have any negative impact on my system. I did have a bit of difficulty getting one...

Got my bags, solenoids, and pump in Aug. 07 as a kit from Suncor Industries. in Fla. 954-783-2272.
Wed. to FRIDAY this week I made a 1600+ mile trip to Maine and back to Va. in my 176+K Mark. Had about 120 lbs. in the trunk. In spite of the snow (lots) I got 23.2 mpg. No...

A few obsservations.
My 90 LSC trims (usually for 5 -10 seconds of pumping) briefly after every start. It may also trim while driving. I'm unsure. I put new bags and a new pump in it a couple of years ago. Now it trims higher than it did before. I'm unsure if the new bags are taller...
ELESSEE,
Thanks for all your additional info.
Last summer I replaced my accumulator because my pump would come on after every 2 or 3 touches of the brake pedal. Now I can hit the brakes 6-8 times before the pump comes on. When I had the old accumulator in place I'd get both the red and...
Leejoffe,
Thanks. That was the second thing I tried after bleeding the system. Pulled the wheels and roters -- yep the sensors were allloaded with bits of rust. In my case careful cleaningl didn't solve the issue.
Many thanks. I'll get back to you after I check the "gap" to see if that could be my problem. Dealership identified the right front as being faulty but I don't think they verified the gap because they used some kind of computer/scanner:) to make their determination.
Elessee,
Many thanks for your helpful information. Now I can imagine how the crash (point of impact front drivers wheel) back in 1999 could have ruined that left front sensor. Since I'm not aware of any significant impacts on the passigner side I am now hoping that my problem is only a...
