I had the same problem.
It's the keypad for sure.
You don't have to go to the dealer. Take the car to a good electrical shop...like a shop that rebuilds alternators/starters/AC Service...etc.
If you are in the NYC are I can recommend a spot.
Anyway...the whole module needs to be...
I have used RockAuto and they used quality parts.
If you want OEM ... check out Ebay...they got them for a good price.
Also...check out the Limo 'black' headlights. You can't use em for HID setup (I think) but they look HOT!!!...especially if your car is dark...
The Navigation units from the 2003-2004 will NOT work.
No voice control button on the steering wheel and no DVD setup in the trunk. You might be better off with an aftermarket unit.
I would prefer the Town Car of the future to be equally massive as the current ones. I know the trend is towards smaller ... but there is nothing like a big full size car.
Add some power and and technology and not much will be needed.
