LOL unfortunately I did see that episode... if I remember correctly they cut a big chunk of the cross-member away to clear the pan, or maybe that was on another "build" they take the torch to so many it is difficult to keep track :/

I recently cut the mufflers off my 97 LSC and replaced with straight pipes. The rest of the system is stock with the cats and everything. It has a nice sound, not overly loud but throaty, and doesn't drone on long trips . Try it as a starting point.

Thanks! The interior noise is not excessive at all, def not intrusive on conversations or listening to the radio at normal levels. I do like the idea of x-pipe and magnaflows, and while the Pypes tips look nice my stock tips are in good shape so I really want to go with them again.

With my cat's and everything being intact still I am thinking that I won't get a noticeable increase in exhaust note. Might not be worth the investment at this point. Though while I am sitting at a stop light the one muffler rattle is rather annoying :(

I am just going for some rumble right now, have to do it in in steps as budget permits so cat and x-pipe will have to be at a later date :(
