Well, to some people I guess it might be. Only a couple of hours of work really and I'm trying to keep the $$ spent on this car down to a minimum... Fingers definitely crossed, but I feel like success is on the horizon.

um, tried that... after 20 minutes of searching fruitlessly I figured I'd just look like a complete fool and ask the question in hopes of finding someone nice enough to provide an explanation.
On an '02 LS (V6):
I just installed a used, but confirmed good solenoid pack and a question has arisen in my mind.
Does the transmission/PCM have the ability to adapt to swapping out of solenoid packs?
In other words, is the 5r55n an 'adaptive' transmission?
Who all has swapped...

It's hopefully just the sending unit (which I still have to find out where it is). I'm not sinking a bunch of $ in this car just to get it running so if it's the engine the it's part-out time and then to the 'ol scrap heap.
Okay - I'm ready to start throwing a little $ towards my transmission so I wanted to see what you all throught about this (below). The LS isn't engaging fullly into D4 and D5 - i.e. no fwd movement. You can feel something though. 1,2,3 work, but engagement is sometimes slower or quicker...
Copy all - I have heard that sending units can be finicky, esp. at 199k. Engine sounds great - no grinding etc. I sat there and floored it for probably 20 seconds and still sounds normal. Again, I only paid 500 bucks for it.
2002 V6 - Car is acting as if the rev limiter is kicking in at 3,000 rpm - floored and can't get any more out of it. Any ideas?
PS - and the oil light is doing the flash every 30 seconds or so thing. (good thing didn't pay but $500 for the whole car!)
Still working on it, have only had it a week or so. Going to try to add some fluid and see what happens. I've seen a few transmissions going for anywhere between 300 and 650 but just haven't had much time to make a decision on what to do. My feeling is that I'm going to put as little into this...
I bought this 2002 LS base and one of the issues I am finding out about is that the rear driver's side door will not open - either from the inside, or the outside. Seems like there may be a linkage problem or possibly the outer handle broken and child-proof locks on?? ANY...
Can anyone tell me (or point me in the direction of the answer) the real difference - rather interchangeability between a V6 and V8 5R55N? I have a 2002 LS base V6. Thanks!!
