I appreciate the input. Sorry for my absence. I chose not to buy the Motorcraft because i dont have good experiences with motorcraft parts. Theyre usually pretty shoddy. I did cheap out a little but the coil pack had good ratings and felt more solid than the motorcrafts. Still, low end misfiring...

Okay, so I know it's been a while but I got around to replacing the o2 sensor with a Denso, and got a United Ignition coilpack off Rockauto to replace that last OEM coil sitting on cyl 8. It runs smoother now for sure, and the misfiring upon acceleration is gone. However, I still get the rough...

Thanks for the input on the timing chain and Bosch sensors. Confirmed my true feelings of the two, just wasn't sure. However today I popped the LH&RH coil covers, no oil anywhere, plugs werent gapped properly but that adjustment didnt change anything, now I can see how idiot-proof spark plugs...

Oh believe me I know the feeling. My first vehicle was an '01 ram 1500 5.2 laramie, single cab, shortbed, 2wd, manual locks/windows/mirrors, barebone everything work truck. Installed a great audio system and that's about the best i had lol. Went from that to power everything, remote window...

I heard somewhere else on here the first gen timing system was a lot more prone to snapping. Dunno if that has anything to do with VVT being in gen2 and not gen1 or not.

Coils may not have been Motorcraft, they were purchased from Oreilly. All plugs/coils were done by the previous owner. Judging by the top of them however, they look like Bosch. Hopefully not BWD. I have not checked spark plug gaps. Last time I did plugs on my truck however, I tightened til...

Alright, so here's everything in a nutshell: 185k miles, the entire cooling system has been replaced, save for the degas bottle and the retarded heater hose that runs under the intake manifold (Can't even find a replacement for it anywhere), all plugs/coils done , MAF sensor and MAP cleaned...

    Another newbie with unrealistic goals!

Hey all, I've been a lurker here for quite some time and a lot of you have unknowingly saved me hundreds of dollars as i've slowly become a DIY-er and stopped going to shops when i was 16. I've got a good question bout my LS, I have a long-term plan for this baby. but I'll save it for the proper...
