Alright, so here's everything in a nutshell: 185k miles, the entire cooling system has been replaced, save for the degas bottle and the retarded heater hose that runs under the intake manifold (Can't even find a replacement for it anywhere), all plugs/coils done , MAF sensor and MAP cleaned, fuel system cleaning done (Intake cleaner + tank additive), new fuel filter, K&N typhoon intake installed (stock intake PCV hose fitting cracked) and the exhaust is just 2.5" piping from the cats back, resonators and mufflers deleted, only thing left is that stupid looking stock X-pipe.
Now, i've also replaced all o2 sensors, however for the last 3 months I consistently get the same code, p2195 (o2 sensor stuck lean).
HOWEVER, it also sometimes spits out p2195 and p2197 (o2 sensor stuck rich). Along with this, it rarely misfires (just a split second, 1-****-up kinda misfire) and sometimes get sputtering for a split second when leaving a dead stop. If it ever idles rough, it's for 15 seconds max and then goes back to normal. the o2 sensor that's tripping a code all the time is a Bosch sensor, "direct fit" and says it's heated, however the tip looks WAY different from OEM, Denso and UltraPower replacements. They all have a vented, cylindrical tip while the Bosch has the weird, slotted phallic sensor tip. (like so: http://www.magnumtuning.com/carperformance/images/ox_big.jpg) I also replaced the sensor under warranty, in case it was fowled or just defective. of course, the weird looking tip leads me to believe Bosch is selling a product that barely works and I got screwed, however I'm hoping someone else who uses/has used one will chime in on that.
I have been thinking maybe the timing chain tensioners are donezo, which im hoping isnt the case, or POSSIBLY, the car needs at least an SCT flash tune done to it to compensate for the open intake and exhaust.
In addition, the PCV hose fitting (where it plugs into the driver's side valve cover) cracked when installing the new CAI, I did epoxy it back together back then and the PCV hose is on there -real- tight, so I doubt that's causing a vacuum leak, though it's possible.
And if anyone's removed the PCV hose and replaced it with two of those miniature air filters, please let me know if that works! Anyways, any input on what's causing this stuttering/misfiring or atleast where else I should start looking, would be MUCH appreciated because otherwise I'm tackling this car with amateur knowledge levels and confidence of a professional (not always a good thing) with another gearhead. Thank you in advance, those who will reply
