I've had two OEM batteries in it. Both had a vent tube attached. This tube had a 90deg bend down out of the battery. The end of the tube had a flange on it. It would appear that it should push through the sheetmetal directly beneath the battery, but there is no hole anywhere near there...

What is the point of the vent tube on the battery? Shouldn't it be connected to the outside? My 2006 doens't have any opening or vent connection to the outside. If it's not venting anywhere but inside the car, wouldn't a sealed battery be just as good? DAVE
