01 LS Overheating (only when A/C is on?)

there was a bit more stuff as well...but I didn't want to list everything.
I can scan my invoice if you like, so you can scrutinize it.

Ahh that's probably ok then. I was just thinking that seems like a bit of a rip for a part that takes 20 minutes to replace. :p

around $500.00
part was 332.00
labor was 170.00
thanks 4 givin me a headache all over again

For about 1/4 of that cost you could have just hooked up an electric fan with a constantly variable speed control. :shifty: That's what I plan to do if mine start's givin me crap this summer.

?

well i just bought a new radiator and a used hydralic fan everything is fine except when i turn the ac on for a little while it slowly rises and starts blowing fan air no longer cold im so stressed out with this overheating crap im going crazy my mechanic gave me the option of turning it to an electric fan but there has to be a way to fix this come on guys what do you think it is??? i mean once i turn the a/c off it calms down:)    :( :(

How sure are you that the used pump is 100%? That's where I would look. The pump does not fail completely-it slowly fades away. All the 2000-2002 cars it came on are pretty old now. I would use a new pump in your situation.

If you go with the electric fan setup. I would think a 2003-2006 LS unit would just about bolt in? Remember the factory dumped the hydraulic set up starting in 2003. Maybe use a self contained external fan controller with adjustable set points. The street rod guys use these all the time. Run a extra wire so the fans comes on with the A/C.
