Kooks 3/4 length headers are the only ones made for us anymore.

Look at my sig for some ideas... it's not easy to drop 1 second with just bolt ons but it can be done.

JC, your Mark VIII might be able to do a 13.7 but doing it on a gtech is not official. You can't say you ran 13.7 unless you ran it at the track. No offense or anything just my 2 cents...

here's a timeslip from the track when it was 100 degrees driving into a 35-40 mph headwind we are only about 1000 feet above sea level here. when I ran the 13.78 it was 59-60 degrees out with no wind. I tested the G-Tech's accuracy at the track. they are accurate. so do you still think it's not possible? I drove many Mark VIII's before I bought this one, It was by far the fastest of the 7 cars I drove. Look at my MPH... not my reaction time, I was sleeping Lol!!

Wow, i'm impressed if you ran that time/mph. Almost 105mph, that's the fastest NA Mark VIII i've heard of. Your car is all stock except for shorty headers, 3.73 gears/trac-loc, dual exhaust and pulleys?

Yep...I also have a K/N air filter and removed the air intake silencer and plugged air tube. this car has always ran great the tranny is still hangin' in there it has always shifted hard big 2nd gear rubber and no J-mod either. I bought this car from a 58 year old black buisiness man who was not into racing at all. oh yeah reprogrammed computer too.

and a few secrets I'll be keepin to my self.:D cause I really did not want to post my timeslip cause of my MPH. now that's not secret anymore. True street racers never reveal everything, I have been doing this stuff over 25 years now.:burnout:

btw... where's your timeslip??:shifty: your time is not official unless you post your timeslip.

I don't have my timeslip scanned and don't feel the need to. I know what my car did and i'm happy with it, I have no reason to lie about it's performance. Anyways, what does your car MPH on a usual run? If you don't trap 102-104mph consistantly, I would question the accuracy of the track MPH sensors on that paticular run... I've seen the track misread 1/4 mile runs all the time. Not saying it happend with your run, but I would believe it more if you repeated that MPH or got something close to it. To put things into perspective, you claim your only engine mods are the shorty headers, full exhaust, pulleys and k&n filter. With only those power mods you trap 10mph higher than a typical stock Mark VIII. That's a horsepower difference of 100!

You young guys never cease to amaze me. you can find a excuse for anything. I seriously doubt that Mid America dragway is or has had any trouble with their timing equipment. I think that would have been noticed by alot of people if that was the case. motor was cool, iced intake for 1-2 hours.
If you don't have anything to prove by posting your timeslip than how can you say that my G-Tech is not official, you have your time posted without any proof of it so what was I doing wrong by posting my G-Tech time? now my timeslip is posted for proof and you still doubt it.:eyeroll:

I'm not doubing that timeslip, just wondering what your car runs on different runs, what does it trap usually? I have my timeslip right in front of me right now:

60 foot 2.125
330 foot 5.887
1/8 mile 8.982
MPH 79.600
I4 11.639
1/4 mile 13.888
MPH 101.310

well it's obviously my best MPH, It usually traps in the 102-104 range, I don't go to the track alot, got tired of sitting there all night just to get a couple of runs, because every fart pipe ricer for 200 miles were there. :D and that was with street tires.225/50/17's. also, some of these engines just run a little harder than others.

Maybe it's just me, but those mph don't match any Mark VIII ET I've ever seen? Were you spinning to the 1000 foot mark?

look below for my mods.I have Motorsport shorty headers for the 4.6 DOHC.
I have ran a 13.78. but usually 13.8-13.9's
jc,
are those 96-98 cobra fms headers? are they an out he box fit? did you have to drop your engine to put those on?
thanx

And if you still think G-tech's are not accurate check out their website. I have the RR model http://www.gtechpro.com/index.html
there the link should work now.click on accuracy there's a video to watch. Los Angeles county raceway matched the g-tech EXACTLY, if you shallow stage accuracy is within
200 hundredths of a second.

yes, I got the ceramic coated one's. all day job, bolted on out of the box, did not have to drop the engine.

I've used the Tazzo VPC and could give a hoot about the Gtech accuracy argument, but what inquiring minds want to know is how you get a 1/8 mph of 82+ with an 1/8 ET of almost 9.3 and a 60 foot of 2.44? Then on top of that a trap speed of almost 105 mph with a 13.99?

I have a fist full of timeslips that show 9.2-9.3 in the 1/8 with mph range of 76-77. Conversely my best in the 1/8 of 8.879 has only a mph of 79.54.

Further, if I take an average of 10 timeslips for a 13.99 ET, the corresponding average trap speed is 97.4? You have 104.8? Over 7 mph difference?
