I actually like those. With a nice drop those would look clean on a black LSE

Too much "silver". They would look even better if the spokes were all black, IMHO.

Question is, do YOU like them? You should never care what other people think. You're not getting the wheels for them. You're getting them for your car.

I think black rims (spokes) with chrome lip was instantly played out. At least these have some uniqueness, for the LS anyways.

what would be a good tire size for these wheels 245/40/18? or can i go 245/45/18?

As an owner of some black rims with a polished lip, I like them a lot but get them in 20's if you can..18's just look small on the car..IMO

I have chrome 20s right now i think I rather do 18s this time cause of many reasons lol

You and I both know 'rim' (now) holds the same meaning as 'wheels'. So when I said black rims I figured you would put two and two together and realize I was talking about the whole wheel since I mentioned the chrome lip.

^ Just like SlickLS's car ^ "black rim, polish lip"

Maybe it's just me, but it seems that almost everyone who gets 20's for their LSs, end up putting them up for sale a couple of months later...

There's a reason for this, I think. The cars of that time didn't have suspensions designed for 20" wheels. But... what do I know about suspensions...

I don't know Jack. Well, I met him once, but he was a prick.

Now then... to uneducated 16 year old pinheads (no, I'm not suggesting you are one), a "rim" is the same as a "wheel". But since we're all reasonably smart kids here, let's call them what they are... "wheels".

Now then... I know what you meant... I think. What threw me off was the "spoke" word. Personally, I don't think the deep dish lip thing is played out. It can look good on a lot of cars. But eh. everyone has their own likes when it comes to wheels.

Whoops. Sorry bout the double post. I'm not motivated enough to merge them.

I'm not selling my 20s anytime soon I love the 20s for this car. The main reason i'm looking into 18s is because I have been doing a lot of long driving. I think 18s would be better for me because of the type of roads I have to drive on.

No that's what happens when you dont order rims or wheels for the specific vehicle. I ordered my rims just for my LS and have had them for almost 4 years now and I would never go smaller. My car doesnt have any issues with rubbing. So speak for yourself and stop buying rims off of other cars and get some that fit properly.

Those are sick. Frogman, the stock LS rim size was 16" for the non sport and 17" for the sport. When I had 20"s on the car it rode like crap, I think I'm going to go with some 19"s when I get new rims.

Oooo. A little touchy, are we?

The wheels I run likely cost more per wheel than your whole set of wheels, Slick. Then again, they are OEM crap, so of course, they aren't as "unique" as aftermarket.

I'd never run 20's on a car that was designed for 16" or 18" wheels. No matter how much they are "just" for a specific car.

There is more to oversized wheels than just rubbing. Unsprung weight, rotational mass, sloppy suspension feeling, etc. We can argue the finer points of oversized wheels all night long. People who have driven my Marks will tell you, I may not be the brightest bulb in the string, but I do know a thing or two about suspension geometry, wheel offsets, how wheels affect handling, and how to make a Mark go around corners like it's on rails. I know, I know... It's not an LS... but wheels are wheels.

But hey... If it works for you, more power to you. No need to get your panties in a knot, just because someone doesn't agree with your 20" wagon wheels. You like them, that's all that matters. The LS isn't exactly a cornering car... right?

Thanks, T-man. I always thought they were 18's stock. Up to 4" increase on wheel size on a suspension not designed for such wheels... Some people hate the ride (like you), and some people just won't admit it to themselves (or others) that they screwed up. Either way... no skin off my back.

Translation:

The 20's ride like wagon wheels. :D

+1 and it's bad enough the LS gets bad gas but through on 19+ and you got some pretty bad MPG there.....

I'm thinking 18x8 for mine...just trying to decide on what rims and offset...though I might get a 38-40 offset but since these are the first wheels I've ever bought..I'm unsure the recommended offset to have a flush look on the LS :p

.

You paying more for one OEM rim than my whole set just proves how big of an idiot you are. I bet you have some jag rims on your car. Way to jump on the bandwagon now if you dont have anything useful to say about the original topic than just keep it to yourself. Have a nice day sir!!

P.S.
When I said get a rim that fits, I was referring to the offset. You can do wonders with the correct offset on your wheels.

but any offset can fit with the right amount of spacers...remember some of them DONKs :p

And OEM is unique, because you know only ONE other kind of car will be wearing them. For instance if a Bentley had my offset and I got some OEM bentley wheels..that's be cool cause my car and bentleys are the only ones wearing them shoes :p (Mine would be the ONLY one with AUTOSOCKS :-D hehe)

Jag wheels... Nope. No Jag wheels here.

Here we go again. "If you don't agree with me, shut up!". Is this what you're basically saying? You know, you never learn anything from people who always agree with you. And we are on topic. The man has 20" wheels, and likes them. I can respect that.

What I can't seem to understand is why you're getting all bent out of shape because I commented on how wagon wheel..y 20" wheels look like (in my opinion), and how the LS suspension is NOT designed for such wheel. Never mind how such a wheel is "just" for the LS. Backspacing is important in a wheel, yes. But there is more to a wheel than just backspacing.

Not that it will make any difference, but I'll say it again: If it works for you, then GREAT. Sometimes you just gotta have bling, damn the functionality.

I run 245/40 on my 19's.

Stock tires on the 17's were 235/50's. I believe 245/45 was also a factory approved size.

As for ride quality being sacrificed when moving up in wheel size, I agree completely. There is a very noticeable difference in the feel of the car when I go back to the stock 17's. But for my everyday driving, the sacrifice in performance is of no concern. Now, if I were bringing the car to the road course, then I'd swap out for the 17's.

The biggest difference in my wheels is the total weight. When I bought my wheels, I put the wheel/tire combo on my bathroom scale. 65 pounds
