1999 Taurus with lincoln continental D.O.C.H. 4.6

my guess would be
1:its a project involving cars,anyone can buy a conti,only the special people can build a conti powered Taurus.

2:this car will be considerably lighter than a conti,and probably get darn good gas mileage to boot.

3:do you have a 4.6 taurus?do i? does anybody you know?

didnt think so.thats why he want to do it,and why i would like to too.

4: now he has an excuse to work on a car and get dirty and manly, rrrr

I just think a taurus with a 4.6 is just totally F'kin cool !!! I was told I could not put a 87-88 T-Bird turbo coupe suspension under my 83 GT Mustang. and the guy that told me it could not be done is the Ford MotorSport partsman at Rusty Eck Ford!!! I went back up there about a week later and the guy didn't even want to come look at it!!! said he was too busy, and didn't need some "NO NAME" gear head to prove anything to him!! I also told him I could whip his ass too! no takers on that, but all the other guys thought it was cool!! WIDE TRACK Mustang!! and I think the taurus is a better looking car than any continentals they look like some 80 year old's car! :Beer
 
I would not use 10w-30 in these cars even in 100 degree weather. I would switch back to 5w-30 Mobil 1.
 
you use what you want to use, it's 10w30 for me. 5w30 is like water on a 100 degree day. besides 10w30 is all I ever have used in this climate. I would suggest you refer to your owners manual about oil viscosity in hotter climates.I have never had a oil related engine failure in 25 years.
 
Conti's are gay and they are not sleepers. a ford taurus that should run low 14s is, how much do the taurus weigh my lincoln weighs 3600 to 3550 pounds so I assume the taurus is light as hell

yhe reported weight of a mark viii are 3753lbs and a conti 3945lbs.

a tauri is ~3290lbs

well the spoiler for the taurus ended up on the Mark VIII, [see thread] i'm off to look for a tranny tomorrow for the 4.6 conti motor. ordered another spoiler for the taurus.only $ 94.00. :Beer
