94 Mark VIII Convertible Progress Thread

how'd you like pulling all the harness out of the door lol. what a bunch of :q:q:q:qing morons, i cant understand why ford didnt put a plug in the door jamb so you could pull the door off without having to pull the whole harness out of the door!

ya that sucked. that was the easy part though. I hope it goes back together as smoothly.

Not just Ford engineers, G.M. had some real geniuses too!! 88 to 98, 1500 series trucks.

and you say you progress slowly then I must be near dead
car is starting to look awesome I love new paint

Let me know how painting your hood goes. Ive heard that the glue likes to vent and cause bubbles in the paint where the upper and lower hood is bonded. If you get lucky, Ill probably paint mine as well.

Got the doors hung and most of the car pretty well buffed. I will go over everything again once its put back together.

lookin like a car again...can't wait to see it again when your done

I take it your doing this at work, you must have one hell of a cool boss.

actually I have to pay for supplies and shop use. And I had to take a vacation to work on it. although it is pretty cool not having to take it home everyday and I can work on it at my leisure.

at least you get to use the shop....my boss tells us to go build one if we want someplace to work.

The past couple days I've been going at it pretty good. I have:

Fixed drivers side door handle
Cleaned and retaped door moldings
Mounted and ballanced the chrome 20 spokes
Removed the trailer hitch
Primed and sanded rear bumpers

Tonight I'm going to paint the bumpers and fuel door then everything will have ben painted.

Tomorrow I'm going to spend a big chunk of the day putting most everything back together.

My goal is to have it on the road by this time next week.

Ill post pics of the progress tonight and tomorrow.
