And here she is. Stopsign002 Car Thread

Once I get this exhaust system in I'll have my buddy take some video of it for the sound. He has a $3000 movie camera (hes in the media arts field) so he should be able to get some high quality sound with it

Any thoughts on getting dual outlet tips? I am thinking of going that direction kinda like what LDM has on his car.

I've thought about it, but I would be nervous about having to do a cutout. Sometimes that 22 year old comes out while I'm doing projects and I go a little too quick lol. Ill have to check what LDM's looks like. I dont think I've seen it

Exhaust

Just a thought maybe buy the mufflers with the tips already on them so they are welded they come polished stainless with a rolled slash or straight cut so you have a cleaner look imo.
Verry nice car love the black wish i had a black as well mine is the charcoal biege Metallic not to many of them in my area in FLA.
Good luck with the mods they become addicting once you start in the end its the WOW factor you have a good start Mike.

If I'm not having any misfires or anything should I just replace the COPs anyway? I got the car at 100,000 and while the previous owner really seemed to take great care of it, who knows if its had the COPs replaced in that time.

Going to have to insist on some updates here in this thread Stops !

you got them Bassanis on yet ?

What about your Sentas, did you talk Rollin out of his yet ?

True ... I'm on the road a lot, not making much progress on the LS.
I've been interested in Stops progress considering he's doing so well as of lately.

My wheels are on back order and I'm having trouble with getting the Bassani's to Canada.

Sup guys. Yeah, I just got back from a nearly 1000 mile trip with the LS. Man is that a great road trip car. I got my mufflers installed last friday right before I left and they are fantastic. All I did was have them cut out the old and adapt to the new. It sounds fantastic in my opinion. My next step is going to be getting my Eibachs installed. I'm hoping to have that done by the end of next week before the Ohio LS meet. We will see if I manage it. I am about to post a bunch of photos from my trip in the picture thread so go check that out (probably about 30 minutes from this post, maybe an hour. Just about to start sorting through the 200 some photos I took.)

and an exhaust video too right?

How much was the muffler install? :shifty:

$175. No idea if thats competitive or not really. It took him a few hours but I've been going to this shop for a long time and they just do things right. They dont half ass anything. He painted the mufflers and the tubes leading up to the chrome tips black so it kinda looks like the chrome tips come out of nowhere if you are trying to look back into the exhaust cut out. He did an awesome job as usual. Its mostly simple, but they do have to put in some 'custom' mountings for the mufflers since the stock ones are like twice the size (THEY ARE FIN' HUGE!! I was amazed)

My eibachs should be installed this week too.

I can't wait to do my exhaust! What tips did you decide on?

People like that, you don't worry about competitive pricing. You smile, pay the price they ask, thank them for another fine job and drive on. There's no such thing as a bargain when the work is crap, and there's little that beats KNOWING that the guy working on your car is going to do it correctly and you're not going to find something effed up a week later. I've literally driven for hours and "overpaid" to have specific people perform work for me because I knew that the work would be performed correctly. I always hate it (for myself) when people like that retire.

I decided to go with the 4" angle cut magnaflows. I think they look pretty good.

Exactly. Thats why I haven't even looked around. They just keep doing great work so I just keep going back lol

So, it was only a muffler swap and it sounds better? You didn't have them remove the resonators or anything else?

Nope. Straight cut out and replace. The difference is night and day. My mechanic was worried it wouldn't be loud enough with the resonators still on but it totally is. If I took them off it would be too loud for my liking. Its loud enough that my girl knows when I get home before I pull into the drive way

Woot! Eibachs are now installed. I swear the car has 20% less lean lol. They definitely took it down a good amount. It'll be interesting to see where they settle at (hopefully not much more). Here's a quick :q:q:q:qty digitally zoomed cell phone pic

Yeah. Wheels definitely need to happen. Some Sentas would really round it out... lol

Oddly, my car is like .7 inches higher on the passenger side than the driver. Think thats just from the springs needed to settle?
