Ben's LS

I think the Mclaren grille looks sick on a white LS. I would definitely go for that. But either way great lookin' LS man. Really like the Angel Eyes. I'm thinking about doing this to my LS but opening the gen II headlights is such a pain from the sound of it

I like it! plasti dip or real paint?

I love it! It's plasti-dip. Probably gonna re-do it soon because I F'd up my tape lines and it was too dark in the garage to get the coat as even as I want. Gonna dip the upper grille too, for now, so both shades of black match.

Thanks for the compliment. If I go with the Mclaren it will be one that I make myself for cheap lol.

I was nervous about opening up my lights too so I waited til I had a spare that I could use as a test dummy. Then it wasn't so bad. I imagine if you followed Alex's video and how-to you would be good.

Damn driver side rear shock is starting to squeak. Guess that's next on the list. Maybe Eibachs too since it's the same place.

Anyone on here selling rear shocks for a gen I sport? lol

Looks good Ben, great progress.

Just looked through the picture thread and all I have to say is I NEED AN 06.
They are so freakin sexy I can barely stand to look at them.

Oh and btw just bought new shocks and some Eibach's. Should be installed by next week.

Plasti Dipped the lettering on the tail lights.

Came out very well except the "8". I don't think I angled it enough because the plasti dip did not stick to the light, but only to the lettering.

Installed the new shocks and Eibachs on the rear tonight. Kinda had a headache with the drivers side rear it just did not want to go into place.

Fronts will be installed sometime in the next few days with the Moog camber kit.
I will post pics when it is all said and done.

I think the nicest part so far is the blacked out lower grill! The springs will bring it home... nice! LSE grill would look great on yours.

Thanks man. The blacked out lower grille really pulls the front end together.

I am up in the air on an lse grille right now so we will see where that goes.

I hear you on that, i like the contrast the plasti-dipped grills create on white/silver cars.

Pics with the new front Eibach's will be up soon I promise

For those of you that don't know yet, I only put the Eibach Pro Kit in the front end and left the rear at stock height.

Ok so after I put new shocks and springs on my car the front end would creak when I would push down on it (it doesn't do it when I'm driving). The noise was coming from both front wheels. I thought it was the strut mount rubber rubbing against the spring. I ended up breaking a strut mount bolt and figured I might as well buy some new mounts. Well I installed the mounts and both fronts are still making the noise. Surely it can't be that I have 2 faulty brand new shocks and all the hardware is tight. Is this just a noise bc the eibachs need to settle in to the mounts? That is all I can come up with.

I am darn sure it is the rubber mounts, but could be wrong. Just wanted to vent a little. I'm not in a good mood tonight haha

If work wasn't so busy I would have some new pics to post but the car is filthy.

My eibachs never made noise, but then again, I didn't notice them settle or break in resulting in the lower stance that others have described.

Check your ball joints on your upper control arm and your lower ball joint. Those will start making noise when they go bad or the nuts are not tight.

Have someone push down on the front while you are listening to where the noise comes from, may help to run it on to ramps to listen for anything underneath.

I have also heard of control arm bushings creaking. When your car sits lower the control arm bolt rests on a different location on the bushing so that could be why the noise is there after the drop. Just a thought.

+1 ... on my list like that as well, love to see pics.

Tried to take some pics, but the sun was directly overhead and it was too hard to see the wheel gap with the new springs.

Here is a pic I liked anyways.
