TRY THIS FIRST
ok so for the longest time both my inner and outter door handles have been giving me trouble opening the door. After removing the pannel and the sound barrier. disconnecting the door lock cable from the handle (relly not that hard, its kinda like the pound game from when u were 3, circle-circle, rectangle-rectangle, ect lol), i sat there messing with my door handles expirementing with pulling a little on one handle and then using the other handle to get it to go the rest of the way, and so on and so on...eventually i noticed that the bottom side of the latch system was not "poping" the door open...
if u watch the system work as u pull the handle, the TOP part will move first..unlatching the door from the frame of the car, and as it clicks all the way back (or sometimes gets stuck in the process as mine did) the BOTTOM part will move (or as mine, didnt move) and push the door out from the frames lock bar.
Also, in all my watching this, i noticed a good amount of dustbunnie looking grey matter and a slight bit of oxidation (rust) inbetween the moving pieces in the bottom half of the lock mechanism . I took n air hose n blasted what i could out of it, n then took a can of WD-40 n foamed it up a good 3 or 4 times over the course of an hour or so, 2 weeks later its workin well n my door handle is as slick n easy opening as the day it rolled off the lot.
All in all saving me like 300+ bucks...thought i was gonna have to buy new handles and a possibly the door latch/locking mechanism.
Not sure if that is what your issue is..mby ur handle is straight broken...but i thought mine was too... till i tried this.
