Oh, I agree that there's a lot of garbage that gets passed just to prove that a lawmaker is doing something, but this sounds to me more like the lawmaker itself was annoyed by the trunk-thumpers. I just haven't heard the outcry from the public that would prod the politicrits into action. There are just too many other issues that would make a real impression on the constituents. But the sponsors of the bill are the only ones who really know.Ric said:I would agree with you if the speaker law was an isolated case, but it's not. I see this happen all the time and in cases like the hands free cell phone issue, no one was annoyed at a stop light by someone using his phone. Anytime some new subject makes the news and the pols notice the public has a strong opinion, they make speeches and propose new laws so they can be in the papers too...even if existing laws already cover the issue.

next to me wasent bad but behind me you better watch out. i got pulled over by a cop who told me i was shaking the lights off of his roof when i drove by him. he was on the opposite side of the road. for a $25 ticket and another $25 for court cost i didnt care. i used to go over to pa and there this tunnel that goes from the burlington bristol bridge road on to 13 and some other roads when i was in that tunnel it was loud as hell. i enjoyed it but soon had to sell becouse i couldent hear for 1/2 a day at a time after i got to work 45 min away blasting it the whole time. 156db.s @ 1 ohm 2 memphis subs and a memphis amp all memphis speakers and a cheap wall mart amp powering my mids and highs o0o0 a tweets hooked up to the headunit wires. loud as hell and i enjoyed every min of it.
