i'm still wondering what this is tho, doesn't the air shock take just 2 lines? air and sensor?

If you went in for a RECALL and they didn't do it they will be in trouble from FORD. If its not there I would contact FORD first not the dealer.

If you look at these ones look at upper right corner and you can see plug end that yours plugs into.

What year is the car we are discussing here? 96? The cruise control switch is in front of the passenger front wheel. You don't need to remove the liner or bumper to install the recall harness. Mine hangs just out of sight where the liner meets the bumper.

I love how people just think the dealer is out to f*** them. I know that some people are idiots, but that doesn't mean the whole dealership is bad. I worked for 5 years at Ford, I had a lot of pride in my job. I sure never went out of my way to screw up people's cars, like most people seem to think they do. I was usually the guy people were grateful to because I fixed it right the first time, after multiple other dealers gave them the run around.

yes, '96....I know there are some good mechs at some dealers and I have no doubt you were one of them DD. These guys here in Woodstock, Ga are Stealers.
They told me they worked on the driver's side and it's obvious they pulled the liner, they took no responsibility for the p1414 and i found the power connection pulled apart. They refuse to show me the work they did and when I got pissed they told me not to come back. Do I think these guys are out to fk me? The proof is in the puddin'

do you think it used to be here?

That 4 wire connector looks like it should plug into a relay that is missing. That must be why it took them 2 hrs. They had no idea what they were doing so they just unplugged things and removed your relay. BTW, that relay just cost my friend in New Jersey $140 from the dealer! They definately did you dirty!

There should be two of those relays on the drivers side... one for the secondary air pump and one for the ABS.

There is one relay on the passenger side for the air suspension compressor.

They are all the same and interchangeable. If you have the coil suspension, perhaps you can steal the one for the suspension compressor if it's still on the car?

That definitely looks like where the relay used to mount... That plug used to go to the relay that everyone keeps referring to.

The cruise control relay harness should be low, in front of the passenger front wheel.

You need someone with a 96 to take a pic of that location on a non-tampered with car so you can compare and ask the dealer why they were even in the LF wheel well.

That "don't come back" stuff doesn't fly. You need to speak to the dealer's service manager and get your damn relay back! Don't mention that the code was previously intermittent, just say you had the code after they fooled around in the wrong place and found the relay was missing.

thanks for the link Dan, I may print that and take it with me if i go back there for a fight
----
I have two 96's so I can just look at the brown one if i need to
-I plugged in the male-female two wire connectors and P1414 went away; now I have P1413, P1413 which is a secondary air injection monitor circuit low input
-----
a little while back I pulled parts from a 95, including the ABS pump, module and this:

so I'm thinking I'm good, I just need to mount and plug in this relay, I wish they'd at least left the mounting bolts in the bracket for me.....anybody know what the bolt size and tpi is? 10 or 8 mm? maybe I can zip tie it in
-----
by the way, the dirtbag Stealer did apparently plug in the recall harness on the pass side, with the wheel on I can see the blue tag and new connector right where you said Dan, between the liner and front bumper cover
----
they also told me they did the recall on my Brown 96 back in 2009, but I can't find it on the pass side
------
Hey My Great 8...this is all YOUR KID''S fault! if his Mark didn't burn I could be at the pool right now instead of pulling the damn driver's wheel off again!
:joke

hey Driller, there's something wrong with your pix.....you don't have open connectors and missing parts!!!!! you may need to go straight to the local stealer!!!!!

:joke

thanks for the pix, they confirm and save me from pulling the wheel/liner off my brown car

Ok now with all info in hand this is what I figure is going on.
1) The dealer got side they took off wrong. Easy mistake. chill on them
2)The previous owner disconnected your air pump because it was throwing codes.
3) All your air susp stuff has been removed hence all the unplugged stuff.
4)That relay missing is your AIR RIDE relay and was removed when air susp was pulled .Its no biggie that AIR SUSPS relay is gone. Dealer didn't mess with it.
5) You most likely need new smog pump. Pump dead showing codes
6) The dealer did install recall harness.
Let me know if this sounds correct.

kind of....however,
I never pulled a P1414 or P1413 before yesterday, as soon as I plugged the two connectors under the pump in P1414 went away and P1413 came up
cause and effect, they took power off the pump, the light showed up on the second engine start, just like it does now when I clear it
----
I did the air ride to coil conversion so I know I cut those lines, just didn't recognize them initially.
It had air when I bought it, air ride relay still there (unless they took it also)
---
I never saw those codes before they did the work, that's no coincidence...
---
yes they did the recall harness on pass side where Dan said it would be
----

You took air ride off this car. Did you pull the pump on pass side? There is a RELAY on that unit you could pull to use. Also that area where relay was looks like its been gone for awhile by the look of rusting on bracket? Or even easier take the one from up high (the air ride one?) and plug it into the lower one by smog pump. Also are the LOCKING tabs on the 2 wire smog connectors still all there?

no

I'll take a closer look when I take it apart again tomorrow
---

definitely yes..clicked, locked in place...what conclusion do you draw from the locking tabs being in place?
----
also, the photos above are of an extra ABS pump relay I already have, picked it up from a parts 95 awhile back

If the locking tabs where broken off the connectors can come apart from road miles. What needs to be done is relay on and see if smog pump works and zero codes. Then happy. I just bet pump is bad that's why disconnected.

all happy except the time I spent fixing what they fkd up, also I'm missing a $60 relay...I don't see any rust on the relay bracket, the inside of the empty bolt holes are shiney...
-----
if all they did was disconnect my smog pump and steal a part,I got off easy. They could have cut the connectors off.

The problem is in you have no proof of this what so ever. If you took air susp off and where down there and saw with your own eye stuff was there then not after you brought to dealer ok. But you can't. Its proven people where in there before you disconnecting things this leads to thought that maybe they undid other things while there. Not trying to say your wrong but just trying to talk you down abit. There is chance they did take parts too so I won't rule that out 100%. I would hook everything back up and see if it runs 100% if you have a seized smog pump I would think owner pulling of parts.
