Well ive had my my 2001 ls v8 for 1 month now, fixed drivers side window thing, coil7 and put a new battery in it.( Buy the E.W. kids) and now on to my next problem. I'm driving home from dropping my girlfriend off from work I decide the techno that I'm jamming out to isnt cutting it, so i decide to crank some Johnny Cash. I hit eject on cd 3. I get an error. I try cd 4, error. I try every cd, error. I try to listen to a cd. Guess what!! Another damn error, so now im driving home listening to some chick sing about her boyfriend not having a song or something and i'm kind of pissed off. I get back and hop on the comp to head to lvc and try to find the problem, searched for an hour and a half ended up watching videos on youtube about srt4 neons and evo's, dont know how it happened it was a link from some post that had the words cd error in it. atleast i think it did. I finally gave up and decided to post my prob in my own bloggy forum thing so here i am. Contemplating driving up the acura dealership i got this car from and murdering my salesmen.

Have you tried to use it again since the car has been shut off for awhile? May not work but sometimes you never know.

It's been off for about two hours, i can walk out there and check it now, but it worries me that if it happened once it can happen again

I'd say try it....if it doesn't work you might have to buy a new stereo. If you want a stock 6 disc I have one.

Well i tried it again and it didn't work. How much would the stereo be shipped to 32095? Theres a stereo repair/ install shop like 2 miles from my house i might drop it by them and see if they can atleast figure it out other than that i really can't think of what else to do. maybe a 4 pack of steel reserve and a hammer??

I'd sell it for $75 shipped. Try the repair shop first see what they say. If it's not fixable I'd say a 6 pack and a hammer would work.

Sounds to me like a Burnt disc is jammed do to a printed label.

-or-

Lens is crapped out. Do you play copied media?

Some burnt media works in the LS but its hard on the laser.

If its on Eject it sounds more like the first.

I read that thread, but it seemed like he was able to get his cd's back out. I'm unable to do that. Also all 6 of the cd's in it are burnt but none of them have any label on them, because i have had problems with labels getting stuck in my old cd player in my former car. also checked it again right now as i woke up when it had to have been cooled off and everything still didnt work. heading to the stereo/audio joint right now to get an opinion from them.

Maybe its just sick of the crappy selection;)

this damn thing is half an hour away from a date with a screwdriver a hammer and one of those little barometer gauges that everyone says dont use its f@#$ed up already right!!?

Is it the In dash changer or the magazine style in the glove box?

I'm guessing the in dash since he tried ejecting cd4,cd3, etc...

Oh makes sense. I say it is the disc ( may be wrong ). Sometimes some brands of CD-R's are thicker even without labels.

I always tell people on a another forum for Video games and other types of media to use Sony Brand when making back up copies of the disc's they have.

Good point. There are differences in thickness. I think that's why my glove box changer was having troubles before I switched to the double din.

I forget the brand but one has a very thick white label. That is definitely garbage! Others are out that are similar also. I just cant name the band off my head. I have been using Sony for so long now...lol!

I have 113K miles on my '02. At about 75K my cd player(in-dashX6) did the same thing yours is doing. I took it to 'Car Tunes' and was told that it was simply out of alignment. They fixed it and it's still going strong.

I FIXED THE SUMBITCH!! When i took it to the stereo repair shop i noticed the little window thingy was open. I peeked inside and I could see the cd so i walked inside and explained my problem, the guy was nice enough to hand over tools he used to get stuck cd's out. I sat outside for 30 minutes and dug at it (carefully) and finally gave up. I had walked back in and handed him his tools, and was on my way back out, when i noticed a cd sticking out. Walked over and bam it had somehow ejected it. How, i dont know.

You moved it back into alignment playing around with that tool, it took a second but ejected it like you previously attempted to do.

It was jammed.

Mines do that from time to time. I stick one of my keys in and push the edge of the CD up then down a little and it either pops right out or pulls the cd back into the tray. Then I hit eject again and it works fine.

I've had this problem many times. I use a straightened paperclip and carefully lift the stuck CD while pressing the eject button. In a pinch, I even used another CD I had pulled out of my glovebox and jiggled the stuck CD using the thin edge of the other CD and it worked. All my CD's are burnt and the only brand that doesn't give me problems in ejecting and playing without skipping in the stock LS in-dash 6CD changer have been CD-R's by Mitsui (Gold)...

i use a credit card or an ID and slip it on top of the CD and that always gets it out, i guess its cause it does not grip the top of the CD

mine also does this from time to time. I'm positive its from the thickness of my burned CD's because all i do is take another CD and push down on the stuck one.. it grips it and ejects. Time for the iPod mod.

This has happened to me several times, the way that I fix it, is by just continuing to press the eject button and choosing the cd thats stuck and it eventually pops out, might take several tries before it pops out. Has always worked for me.
