I wanted to change the sound of my exhaust over the weekend so i replaced my resonators with straight pipes. Sounds deeper and alittle louder than stock.
sound clips PLEASE! I've wanted to do this for a while, just didnt wanna take the plunge and hate the outcome.
What size pipe did you have to use?
It shouldn't. As long as the cats and mufflers are there, thats all you need.does not having resonators affect inspection?
Not legally in most places. But, if you find out you can do it legally in your area, you'll have to by an O2 sensor "simulator" to trick the cars computer into thinking the cats are still there. There are 2 sets of O2 sensors on the car, one just before, and one right after or in the side of the cats. The ones behind the cat work the same as the ones in front, but they are there to make sure the cats are working properly, not to help tune the fuel ratio like the first set.hey can u cut out the cats?

The "simulator" goes in place of the second O2 sensor on each side, and tricks the computer into thinking that the cats are working properly, even though they aren't there.
The exhaust needs to be equalized so you dont want to cut the "H" out of your exhaust. PLEASE someone correct me if im wrongHas anyone tried cutting out the H pipe to see how it affects the sound of the exhaust?
