Coolant Recovery Tank Replacement

I feel for you, when I bought my LS sport in aug I bought a set of front slotted rotor's, the previous owner had the lugs kinda tight, 7 of the 10 broke off at 200+ pds torque.

I removed my old degas bottle after removing the wipers, wiper covers, strut brace, etc. and it came out with bit of effort using some channel-lock pliers.

Now trying to reinstall the hose and new hose clamp on the new bottle is challenging if not nearly impossible. The old hose just doesn't seem long enough to be able to hook it up to the tank (even after pulling on it). And my hands aren't small enough to fit them down there and hook up the hose as the tank must be halfway down into position in order to hook it up.

I may punt and go get some extra heater hose, a fitting, and extend the hose long enough to be able to hook it up to the tank and then slide the tank back down into place.

Tried from underneath the car but can't fit my hand under the brake booster. Very frustrating. What a pain for what should be a 10 min fix.

did you take the driver wheel off?

If you are going to go through trouble of Replacing the tank you might as well spend the extra 20 bucks and get a tank with hoses allready on.

Took the wheel off and inner liner and that helped enough to get the hose back on and tightened with a regular hose clamp. So that was the trick. I used the Doorman tank since it was considerably cheaper ~$95 shipped.

lol, next time you know! i dont understand how people try to replace it without removing the inner liner, that bottom clamp was made to come off that way

Could anyone tell me if both of the inlet/outlets(?) at the top of the recovery/degas tank should have hoses connected to them? Probably a stupid question I know, but before I dived into this project I thought that I better make sure.
One has a hose going toward engine and other one( closest to driver) has nothing connected to it. Appreciate any help I could get. Thanks.

well after waiting a week to get my new bottle from the auto store, i open it up and it is BROKE:mad: this is a great way to ruin a week

Thanks joegr and jealous. It absolutely helped. I can see from diagram that it appears that only the bleeder hangs from that port. saved me a lot of head scratching.
