Cut out mufflers

I have been considering deleting the mufflers and replacing them with tubing into the factory tips. How does it sound? Good, Bad???

It's loud and you get a lot of drone in the cabin. But it sounds sweet at WOT.

Agree, at WOT its so nice, but regular driving the drone in the cab is pretty bad, but besides the drone its real nice. Talked to that guy, he had no mufflers with tips drove it like that for over a yr, couldent handle the drone any longer, put in flowmasters in place of were the stock mufflers would be and he said he wished he did it sooner, almost no cabin drone when compared to the no muffers and he said it was still loud and good all around sound cruising, WOT, so i might do that, im still thinking though.

If you do, replace the resonator with pipe too. I haven't yet, but my friend did, he was in town over the weekend and his sounds a lot better..

I finally have a plan, 3 or 3.5 inch polished cut-off tips were the mufflers were then later have the resonator replaced with a 1 in 1 out Delta 50-series Flowmaster, I can get the muffler for 70 bucks and the tips im still searching, installation will be free Im gonna put them in during my shop class so all it will cost me is materials. Now a new question, weres the oil filter on the mark vIII? Im due for a oil change and its the first one for me with this car, I bought some sea foam, now u pour some in run it at idle for a bit turn car off drain fluid then pour new oil, correct? Now whats the best oil to use in the Mark? Thanks.

1st. Go with the bigger tips.
2nd. The oil filter is in a bitch of a spot. Go under the car and look. It's on the driver's side, almost hidden up above a piece of the K-member, I think. You'll see it, There's some fluid lines below it, I think for the power steering. Have fun getting it out.
3rd. I've never put seafoam in my oil. I just suck it through a vacuum hose to the intake to clean the intake.
4th. I've been using Mobil 1 for over a year and that's what I'll continue to use. Everyone has their preference. I also use the Motorcraft fl-820s oil filter.

Go with 4"x24" if you like this look. I put glass paks in the tips to quiet it a little.
