lol guys, lol. Good thread. I have more to this story.
Globalautomotive parts just showed up today, for one. Only a week and a half late!
But it gets better.
I was over that girls place Friday night, after just getting my car back that day, and I leave and here's where the fun starts-
Getting on freeway, ramp has a turn to it and is on a hill. It's been raining and is wet.
I am driving on this on-ramp, doing about 40mph, when the rear end suddenly jumps out from behind me. I slide to the left and hit a guard rail with my rear bumper, I do a 180 twice as I fishtail around and slam into the guard rail to the right with my front right corner.
Then I bounce off that guard rail, to the left, right past where the guard rail ends, and slide passenger-side first down about a 15ft hill, and then across a 3 lane freeway, where I come to rest in the shoulder, facing incoming traffic. It was about midnight, there wasn't much traffic, but I am really lucky to not be seriously hurt/or to have hit someone else.
I get out and look, it is bad. Front right is pretty smashed. Grass and mud were jammed up in every crevice on the passenger side-in the rims, underneath the doors, it was pretty messed up. Cops come, give me a ticket for failure to maintain, and tell me car looks safe enough so I should drive home. Get home, go to bed very upset. It was a real rollercoaster ride, when I went over the edge of the hill it felt like the car was slightly airborn for a second before it started sliding. I'm really lucky it didn't flip over or something.
Next morning I go take a look at the car in daylight. I see just how bad it is
All across my roof are multiple dents. On the pillars leading up to the roof, there are dents. Looking at it from the rear end, the fender on the left side is higher than the one on the right side. The roof is a real mess, tons of bows/dents, it has to be from the ride down the hill. Every door is out of whack and looks funny when closed. I take it to the ins. co tomorrow, I'm pretty sure they will tell me it's totaled. It's really, really bent out of shape.
One of the officers said he thought I could've hit a patch of wet leaves. My tires are almost brand new, about 5k mi. on them. I'd driven that on ramp a hundred times in the LS, in rain and snow, I really didn't see the wipeout coming.
The car was all fixed up to. It was running awesome, I was so happy all night. Was so so happy to have the car I loved so much back.
In hindsight now, it was a pretty bad wreck that could have been way worse, and I think the car did a great job of protecting me. I'm sore and stiff, not too bad but enough to remind me about what happened. Got right out of the car after the accident - thank you mr. seatbelt.
So uh yeah, that's basically my story. What a trip it's been. You guys are all great and it's been great reading and posting here. If the car isn't totally covered in snow tomorrow, I will take pictures and post em. I've never seen a car bent and dented up like this.
BTW people are all telling me that this girl is a bad omen and I should stay away! I think I'm going to
God what a depressing story.
