Friggin misfire cyl 06

Ok so this is the "Bad" plug. Whatever be the case, replacing this plug has 90% improved the issue. I haven't gotten the failsafe more than once, and I haven't gotten misfire codes. And start up sounds much better, with only 1 or 2 pops from the exhaust now, as opposed to the frequent pops I heard before.

Picture 3, I cleaned the plugs ceramic part using alcohol. I still see a bit of yellow, and the parts guy said this plug was arcing.

If it really was arcing, then you need at least a new boot on that coil in addition to a new spark plug.

The coil is the hard plastic cylinder part at the top. The Boot is the rubber tube part that you pull off to put dielectric grease on both ends and then reinstall. There is a "spring" inside the boot that stays with the coil.

The boot is a wear item. If the coil lives long enough (>100K miles), then you will eventually have to replace the boot. You have to do it sooner if something damages the boot.

ok gotcha

im planing on replacing them all anyway. I made a mistake buying them for $28 each. Prolly not much better than the ebay coils.

Im considering the Accel coils

But i'll prolly dot he plugs first to ensure that the car isn't misfiring.

Ok Misfire came back today. Cylinder 6.

I've replaced the coils twice, and swapped it with another bank.
I've replaced spark plugs and twice.
I've run Fuel injector cleaner through it.
I've seafoamed the engine.

So PCM?

I called Ford, and they want $1165,00 for a new PCM and $60 core charge.
