fuel pump issue

Ok I put in an FPDM and car still does'nt fire up....i don't hear the fuel pump turn on. I took off the intake tube and i fired some mass air sensor cleaner in there and the car fired up so its not the crank sensor nor injectors so thats good news.....now what else can be the issue? my guess is the fuel pump, im going to have to bring down the tank again. What pump do you guys recommend? OEM? its got a bosch fuel pump regulator in there now so i hope the OEM pump works with the bosch unit.

called my local dealer and ford doesn't make oem fuel pumps for us anymore so im going to have to go aftermarket. I called discount auto parts and they have an airtex pump what the hell is that?

If you don't hear the pump prime when you key On, check the relay

From front to rear of car, its #2.. swap it with #3 (horn)

i checked the relay already i switch it out with another one and still nothing.....which fuses are you telling me to check sapper under the hood or inside the car?

I'm about to buy a Motorcraft Focus SVT pump. They are supposed to be the best replacement, and the best price i've found was about $175 so far. If anyone knows of a cheaper source, go ahead and post it for both of us. lol.

cobrastar and the 284 will work on our cars with no problem? if that's the case then im taking this cheap bosch crap out and im heading to autozone. also is it just the pump or pump with module? and if its the pump only is it an exact drop in?

well dudes my problem is now over. I brought down the tank and i discovered that one of the rubber black fuel lines that come out of the sending unit was pinched completely shut and that's why the gas was'nt passing thru and not feeding the injectors. Im now in the progress of putting the whole thing back together i had to bring down the exhaust and gas tank...the fun part is about to start which is having to put everything back together...It actually sounds harder than what it is to bring one of these suckers down. Im happy as **** this means that the brand new bosch assembly is in good condition.

ok it wont fire up now.....i fired it up with the emission hoses disconnected and the tank down i dont see the fuel lines pinched anymore and now it wont fire up....do i have to connect the emission hoses in order for it to fire up?

Is it possible that the pinched hose burned out the pump?

Well, at least I was sorta right. Those little hoses have to be just right.

I hope you never have to do this again, but if you do the exhaust does not have to come down. Just loosen driver strap and remove passenger strap. It will tilt down far enough to service. I have done it a few times, unfortunately.

Now i took the pump and unit to get tested and its working like it should mechanic says its the black plastic hoses but they are discontinued at the dealer can u use rubber hoses from the auto parts store with clamps

As long as you use Fuel Grade hoses
