Getting ready to pull my engine....

Damn Mike, progress is going good on the '95. Great work. That is going to be one hell of a car after all is said and done, for sure.

Thanks for coming out the other day and checking out the ride, If all goes well, Seth is going to be one happy guy with my '95 and you'll be loving a rare cowl hood for your 95. :) U only wish u could have one too... soon enough haha jk.

Might just have to buy a LS to stick with the family here... LOL. We'll see where this car searching leads me to. Have a good one.

Looking really good. What's the specs on the new motor? You mod the back fender at all to fit some thick tires?

Thanks Jon, that 300 of yours is looking good also. Me and seth have been taking about what we can do with your old 95 in the way of performance upgrades, but nothing decided thus far. Hope you stay around as your more than welcome here, even if you DID cross over to the dark side :)

KD00LS, Nothing done to the engine other than the covers. I DO have a TT setup I am working on in my free time, but as you can see.......I don't have alot of it.

You will see in the next pics that we got the interior stripped out of the parts car. We now have sale, the ENTIRE grey setup from the 95. I am including the heated seats that are already in it. This would be a good swap for those with a stock interior color that is hard to find parts for.

Anyway, here are the pics. Take care guys.

No I do nothing with it except pull the drive train, and cut the shell up in to pieces with a Plasarc. This is why. :D I have a feeling this car took a substantial hit to pop 1/4" plate steel and shove the tire aginst the firewall.

Thanks for the comments guys, seeing all of you interested in this project makes that much more fun to work on.

Take care.

Do you do body work professionally?

I suppose you could say that. I work for the largest, and most reputable collision center in our area. I am more of a frame/mechanical tech, but I can do everything else you see here.

The only thing that I will not do, is the actual spraying of the base and clear coat. Our day to day spray tech offered to do it for me in exchange for some help building a loft in his shed, so I could'nt pass that up.

Also, I think it needs to be mentioned that this project would'nt be any further than it is with out the support of Gary (the Owner, his Wife, and thier son, (the spray tech). They have been more than supportive to this project, and I can't thank em enough.

u need to mechanically strip it(da, sandpaper, etc). Most of the time there are problems related to chemical strippers, especially if you have never used them.

you could get by with a cheap da and hand sanding it...harbor freight or something similar should have one for 50 bucks or less. How bad is the cover?

Update 04/09/06

Engine pull on the parts car was done this weekend. Went pretty smooth for the most part, other than forgetting about the steering column. It fianlly went after I hit it with the plasma cutter. Anyway, Melissa came out and helped,(which suprised the hell out of me) by running the hoist and catching stuff before it fell on my head.

After it was all said and done, Bill came by and fired up the tractor to load the drivetrain on a tralier to go to storage, and to pull the car out of the way for another car comming in tomorrow.

Next weekend, the rear suspension assy gets removed, and the car gets 1/4'd to go to the scrap yard. Anyway, thats it for now as my 98 is broke down waiting for a thread repair kit for the sparkplug holes. (the next few weeks will see alot of progress tho.)

Mike

EDIT...... IF anyone has missed it (apparently some have), this is the shop I work at, and not my personal shop. All credit for the facilities should go to Gary Blum, the owner of the buisness, and one hell of a guy. The car was at somone else's garage before that, but ego's got in the way of the project so it got moved to it's current location.

If that rear window has no waffling on the seal it would be worth saving as well.

I'll take your driver's side mirror if you don't want it. My 98 could sure use it. :D

Paul.

Great progress Mike and cool about Melissa being there, looks like she is into cars as much as you are cool

UPDATE 04/16/06

Hey guys, I got busy a little late today as I slept in a bit too long. I have an easter dinner to go to tomorrow, so I had to get some stuff done in a hurry today. All in all, I got the rust taken car of in the wheel wells, and got the carpet, and dash swapped out. (all in 8 hours.) After wards I took a quick shower, and went to see my buddy's little baby girl.

I figure it's been a good day after seeing her.

Mike

PS.... The cobra R hood and 3 pc wing should be here by the 20th....(thanks Geno.)
