Bought a 97 lsc from a friend for parts, and he had these neat wheels on them. They're 17x7...and believe it or not, he's stuffed 275/45/17 tires on the back and 245/45/17 on the front. He's put some HARD miles on them, and the fat rear tires have held up on that wheel.

Anyhow, I got them installed today. They're seriously dirty, so tomorrow I'll wash them and the car and post new pictures.

Also, all but one was missing the center caps....I was staring at my old wheels, and thought, what the hell. Couldn't believe it, the old lincoln center caps popped right into my new wheels!!

They may need a repaint...I'm on the fence re-spraying them sliver, or spraying them a gloss black. What do you all think??

dude sensor lower it pppp pleASE

yea I'm afraid it's about time...I've gotta read up on it, perhaps I'll do it this weekend. I'm having random deflating issues with the rear I'm worried about...only does it once in a while.....so I've been avoiding messing with modifying it, but with the leak being so random, it's impossible to troubleshoot

It's probably in the fold of the rear bags if memory serves sensor lowering will actually help to not expose the cracks. If I'm wrong on this someone chime in.

that's a plausible theory....I've got a full spring conversion from my parts car, but I really really don't want to convert....I'll be loosing one of the cars key attractions imo....

its hit or miss. some times helps, some times not.

if they leak in the parked position and hold in the driving position,
and then lower them so the drive height is the old parked height, it will be bad.

K, I washed it and the wheels.

The finish on the wheels are tore up pretty bad. Think I'm going to have them powdercoated next time the tires are off.

I'm in love with the wheels, I think it looks sick. After I lower it, it'll look even meaner

I'm going to wait a little while before sensor lowering it....I need all new ball joints in the front end, and I don't want to align it after I sensor lower it with a car with bad ball joints....and i don't want to sensor lower it and wear through my tires either.

haha...you got me started now....

The one in the driveway i built up, but then was unhappy with the body, so I'm stripping it back down and selling the shell.

The one in the garage is a virgin 66, 95% rust free, original c code v8, rare bench seat option, lol. The engine going in is a 5.0 for racing crate motor with a b303 cam, aluminum gt40 heads, t5 5 speed manual trans, and I've already modified and installed an 8.8 rear end from a 96 explorer...373 gears, 31 spline, trak lok and disk brakes. The front will have the mustangsteve disc brake conversion, which I have waiting with 2005 mustang gt disc brakes. It'll be topped off with an efi fuel injection conversion, and I'll probably keep it looking like ass to make it more of a sleeper.

The blue one in the garage is a 72 maverick. My mother bought it brand new. I grew up in that thing. It's getting a full resto. It's already had all body work done and sprayed with grabber blue paint (original color)...the engine is another 5.0 crate motor, this will be carb'd...topped off with a built lentech aod and converter...

I've got 4 kids, so with the exception of the paint and bodywork on the maverick (mother paid for that)...all this has been done on a budget of nearly nothing....$200 for the rear end, $500 for the ford racing crate motor and t5 from a friends parts car, another $500 for the other crate motor and lentech aod from another parts car, then i sold off all parts on the side to break even or come ahead etc etc....:)

here is the new 66 after I put on the explorer rear end

awesome!
i have a 69 cougar with fuel injection that my dad built. its so cool to see people scratch their heads when they can't find a carb. :D i also like the not so great exterior to stay low profile. also cuz its cheaper and im not worried about scratches.:D
i approve. some cool stuff there.

They look good man. cleaning them really helped.

Awesome! My dad has a 67 coupe which is his first car and he finally got it running again because I am using it for my wedding (my fiance loves the car).

Is that maverick a grabber?

Id like to get a 68 and do a restomod... or a cougar

so i had some free time, and $6 burning a hole through my pocket, and went out and got a can of gloss black paint. Hell, the finish on my wheels were so bad, I couldn't possibly screw it up anymore. I figured if I liked the look, I'd eventually have it sent in to be powdercoated....I'm impressed, I'm really happy with the results

98gt...traded the rusted shell of a 66 coupe with no drivetrain for a running 98gt silver on black leather :)

I couldn't be happier with the wheels results...they just didn't look right before.

the wife is pretty pissed off at me though, redneck style round paint marks on the grass (seen in the above pic) and it was just mowed...oops
