My '98 was totaled by the insurance company and they want 1000 to buy it back so I let them have it. I will get $6100 from them. I cant find any Mark VIII's near Montgomery, so I guess I will buy something else. I'm looking at Crown Vic P71 Interceptors right now.

I don't have the money to fly somewhere when I don't even know the condition of the car. I live paycheck to paycheck.
There is a CE in Dallas for $3600 and its not that bad. Some minor paint blemishes and the neon is gone but they would prolly take less.
In any case there are always nice clean Marks in my area for under 4000 and they will be rust free nice examples if you spend 3-4K on one. I would pick ya up at the airport and bring ya to the car. Since after Friday I will be unemployed I can even go out and inspect some for you then that way you know if its worth coming out for. :)

Buy back the car and use the remainder to buy and fix another. Then use the good parts from the old one. Keep it as a parts car.

The most I have ever payed for one is 4100.00 and that was the 60,000 mile chamelion. Don't give it up.

Thanks for the offer but I am not really into driving long distances in a car I hardly know anything about. Driving from Texas to Alabama is a long way.

Too late. I already agreed to their offer and I don't have any place to park a non-mobile car and the trailer park I live in frowns on leaving cars that don't move in my parking space.

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

they are giving you $6100 and you say you have no money. $6100 will buy almost any mark in probably better condition than yours was in anyway. no offence.

Man that is one great offer I don't know how anyone can pass that up.
If Laser looked at it, I wouldn't think twice about driving it 1,400 miles.

Mini vacation and bringing home a rust free car........cant be beat.

You da man Bill.

Any car Gman sells would be a good ride too.

Just take your time and keep your eyes open and you'll find a good deal. I bought my very clean and always garaged 97 with 66k on the clock for $2500. Only thing that was wrong was a leak in one of the front air bags. The owner didn't want to deal with it. So I put about $5 worth of tire sealant in that air bag and it has held up fine ever since.

ya your air ride system is going to love that stuff. I hope you like replacing parts, because sooner or later your going to have to replace ALL of them.

Oh God I'm gonna hate myself for even saying this...but I've had the stuff in the front springs on my '96 for over a year and a half and on the '97 for about 5 months with absolutely zero problems from either one. It may not be the best thing to do, but it worked for me. I'll have to replace the whole set eventually. But for now, the whole system works flawlessly. There. I said it.

Glad to hear she's still holdin' up for you Ed. :)

You might be right but so far I haven't had any problems.

Where is your sense of adventure? Look for one in Vegas or Orlando make a vacation out of it. Even if it is a bust or You break down (not typical in a Mark VIII) its Better than Working.

You wanna correct that post? Isn't the ass of your car stuck on the ground today and will not air back up? I hope for your sake its just the springs gave up all at once but I bet its green goop stuck in the vents or compressor or lines. This should be interesting to see how far the crap has traveled.
